Goodbye AK

So soon Steve's gonna be leaving Anchorage. He doesn't like it there. Reminds me of myself back in 2009. I went to Legazpi to work in Fr Jovic's microfinance business. I only lasted four months, I went home in May... Guess this is what he and I have in common --we're both on this journey. I dunno if we'd ever get to our destination. Who knows??? Good luck to us n lng. Always!

Crazy Busy Time

I had been busy the past 3wks. Wahh lng jd! I can enumerate them all here: 1) My friend in the US who took out a loan here in Philippines (Kahasol ba!) 2) My sisters in Manila --I bought Bantil's medicines and also sent them money 3) My friends who came here from Legazpi 4) Mama's NSO Birth Certificate 5) My own concerns I thought I wouldn't be able to weather all these. But luckily I was able to. Un nga lang, nawala pd ako laptop (my HP Mini got stolen in the house 2wks ago. God bless us!

Resolved

Before the start of our classes for 1st sem 2012-2013, I agonized whether I would continue with this PhD opp from Utrecht or not. Coz there's been a change in our educational system --now we are adopting the K to 12 curriculum. I thought it meant that I take Education units and get my license as teacher... Anyway I resolved everything yesterday, 6/18/12. I went to CNU and I was told that the DPE program is only 18 units in Education. Which means I can take it in the 2nd semester coz I'm alrdy late for 1st sem. I don't have to let go of the Utrecht thing. God bless my plans. I pray for a fruitful and more meaningful semester. Goodbye

I've felt that he's distancing himself from me. Ever since he moved to a new city to work. We've only chatted only twice since. And it wasn't even long. Lisud daw iya life didto coz he doesn't have his car. Besides, he's exploring his new city. He goes to the park to meet creatures like bears, mooses, etc. Another thing is that he said he has a new friend -from Saudi Arabia but who's living there at present. Good luck n lng to him. If we're meant to be you will come back to me. Jia you! :)

June 2012

This new school year is gonna be critical. It will be the start of implementation of the K-12 curriculum. 2 more yrs in school for all the students. But the implication is that some of us teachers might lose their jobs if we don't get a teaching license. I've thought of getting mine. Good luck to my plans!!!

Summer 2012

I'm now spending my summer vacation. Earlier I was planning to visit Cambodia but I didn't push through. I didn't want to use the money that Dex and Janet lent me. Kapuyan n ko mangutang ron.

I thought of working on my PhD proposal. Padayonon ko na ning Utrecht. Si Henky mn gd pd sig pangulit.

I bought Cherile's VND tonight, salin sa iya recent trip to VN. Talk r mi abt life there. It's nice to talk to someone who's been to the region... I miss Cambodia more...

2/29/12

This day happens only once in every 4 yrs so today must be special. I sure hope so!

I've alrdy helped out my sister and her family as much as I could so the rest should be up to them. I do wish them all the best!

Now that that thing is behind me, I now have to think abt my future --will I stay here or go to KH again? The only question that comes to my mind is 'Why would I decide to teach kindergarten again there?' Lord help me, I don't have a clear answer yet.

We have 2 more weeks of classes then it will be vacation time. I'm thinking of getting my ticket for PP this week. God bless me in that decision.

Taiwan

Well, it had to come to this Taiwan issue...

Last Saturday, Nang Anel msgd me kay mangutang dw sya ni Mama for her husband's placement to Taiwan. Grabe kamahal ba diay! I sent her money on Sunday afternoon thinking that was the end of it. La pa jd diay coz nanawag kay papun-an pa.

The week ended with my telling them that di kab-oton ang di makab-ot. Coz I learned from Bantil that there are still so many things to pay for!!! Kinsa ba gd nag-ingon mo-abroad sya? Ang ako lng gusto nga maplastar na sila, di n mglisud. Bhla n lng if di sila mouli diri in May, ako n lng diay monitor oldies. Basta, I have to visit PP in Apr/May...

Charm?

They say that the 3rd time's the charm. I dunno abt that, I'll see for myself soon. Basically, what will I find in Cambodia the 3rd time around??? ;)

I first went to Cambo in 2008, cross country from Singapore. I was able to work there as a kindergarten teacher. Cute! Then I went home in November '08 and I went back in Oct '09. I stayed on till Oct '10 when Mami Sering got sick.

I was able to visit in October 2013 with my mom who passed away just weeks after that. Now I'm planning to visit in end March. Adto ko stay kang Juvy Jumawan. I think she still lives in BKK; I hope so para city center ra.

Resolve

I had resolved to eliminate my debt burdens. I'm slowly achieving that goal...

Last Monday, Dexter said that Janet is willing to lend me money so that I can book the ticket for Cambodia in summer. Wow, I was really touched with it. But yday and fortunately, I was able to find the money to go. I'll have to wait for 2wks before I'd get it. But the impt thing is that it is my own money, not borrowed from someone else. In time I'll be debt-free. Way to go, Heide!!!
