ASEAN BCG RESEARCHER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Last January 27, 2022 I received email from EURAXESS ASEAN about this ASEAN BCG (Bio-circular Green Economy) Researcher Development Program lagi. I applied right away and we will start this afternoon at 1pm Bangkok time which is 2pm Manila time. Ay I'm excited for this. Coz there is a possibility man for me to attend the next phase of the training in Thailand pohon, all travel expenses covered as they say. Only those who would attend the 1st phase of the program daw, only 30 will be selected for the next phase. Wow, paningkamot nga maapil k, Doki. Aloha, go go go! Sus, kataas pas prusisyon ani diay oi. The webinars will be till end April p daw pohon, every Wednesday afternoons. Coz na'may training how to write for journals, international funding etc. Then mga early June lagi daw sila moannounce kung kinsay mopadayon sa next phase. Adtos Bangkok n lagi ni pohon. MAYBE NOT

Dili man siguro tinuod oi. That person from the Economics Department at Fordham University who read my paper in April or July last year could just be anybody. I don't have to put any meaning to it. Ngano gud tawn di b? I have readers gud from Haiti, Nigeria etc. I just have to keep doing my work everyday and I will get there ra lagi. Jia you Doki. Btw I am already part of the GC sa faculty members sa Foundation University MBA. On Saturday 11 February in the afternoon naa daw mi orientation. VERY RICH

As is ironic in Philippine society. David Licauco who now plays a rebel in Maria Clara at Ibarra (MCI) book 2 (last 3 weeks) is actually a very rich man in real life. He was rich in Book 1 as Fidel de los Reyes y Maglipol, friend of Crisostomo Ibarra though. He's actually a scion of a business family. He was born daw in Tabaco, Albay to Jack and Eden Licauco. He has 3 sisters and a brother. He was approached daw while partying in Boracay if he wanted to go into showbusiness. He competed actually in Mr. and Miss Chinatown 2014 (hosted by Kim Chiu and Gretchen Ho) and he won first runner up. He doesn't mind exposing his upper chest on his Instagram considering that he is a gym rat. In the first part of MCI, he played a rich friend of Crisostomo Ibarra. But again the story is now in season 2 in which he plays a rebel after understanding and embracing the causes being fought for by his good friend. Latest part of the story - He stands to see Klay, his love interest in Book 1, played by Barbie Forteza. She was jailed for not having a cedula. Will they rescue her from the cuartel? I think so and they will see each other again. Hay char, kilig ilang love story! :) But how will the drama series end? Malagim man diay ang El Filibusterismo oi. CHASING HIM?

I don't know why, but every time there's talk of Philippine history, the Revolution etc, masud jud si Sir L.E. sa akong huna2. Saun, interesting and modern take man jud pud on Philippine society ang iyaha. Just like Dr Carol Hau and Dr Nicole CuUnjieng-Aboitiz. I got into this very interesting MOOC gud from MIT EdX on Visualizing Cultures: Imperialism in the Philippines from 1898 to 1913. Makahuna2 man pud ko'g enrol in a History course lagi due to them. LOTUS

In the video of David Licauco joining a Joiners trip to Jomalig Island in Quezon Province. There was a guy there who proposed to his girlfriend named Diane. I like the box for his engagement ring. It opened like a lotus with the ring on top. Amazing, so creative di b? Happy Monday to us all. Aloha!

MAM JESSICA

Y'day afternoon I met up with Ma'am Jessica Adlawan Uy, the wife of Mr. James Uy, USC History professor at Ayala Center Cebu. Kanice, she gave me a purse plus alcohol, wipes, cotton buds (for when I travel daw pohon) plus 2 calendars. Wow, salamat kaju Mam Jess. She studied in ISS actually morag year 2002 man cguro. We were together sa ISS SRHR Refresher Course in UP Diliman and Tagaytay last 2011 with Madon Javier etc. Basta dugay2 n pud mi wa magkita since the pandemic. I asked her how long xas DOLE office in Tagbilaran. 10 months ra daw. Thanks again Mam Jess and let's stay in touch! ;)

Sila David Licauco and Barbie Forteza ron ang in the news. Team FiLay or Fidel at Klay from the GMA hit series Maria Clara at Ibarra. Char! Gwapo mn jud tinuod si David Licauco. I remember him from Heartful Cafe with Julie Anne San Jose and Barbie Forteza pud diay to. He once said iapil daw siyas mga oppa hahah. Incidentally, 3rd project n kuno nila ni Barbie Forteza ang Maria Clara at Ibarra (MCI). First ang Heartful Cafe then 2nd cguro ang Mano Po Legacy. This time sa Maria Clara at Ibarra ra jud sila nipatok lagi. Hay true love! ;)

I joined the Holy Mass of Fr. Benigno Beltran this morning. He said there are 3 things that God wants us each of us baptized to do: to be with Him, to preach the Good News and to drive out demons or evil daw in this world. Amen!

Wow, Jayeel Cornelio is in Africa. He is in Burundi daw for a workshop. Sus, Oceania n lng siguro ang wa maadto ni Lolo Bear. And maybe Latin or South America. Coz he made it to Mexico n man before. JAN. 2023 BILLS

P505.88 ra diay oi ang VECO bill for last month, nga diri sila Nang Anel pag Christmas, 23 to 27 December. The water bill is around P250 and my Sky bill of P998 is payable this 21st pohon. After this, ang HOA n lng pud at the end of the month nga 1k and my Smart bill of P600 plus my insurance bill of P1,045 due on 2/13/23 pohon. Mabayaran ra lagi ni naho tanan pohon. Amen. Pwede ra pud ko modecide Lord nga mobalik sa Cambodia pohon and work there for good. Pero hapit n mn lagi ko 50 yrs old oi, pujo n lng ko diris Pinas jud. If di ko madayon sa VSU lagi, sa CTU n lng ko apply pohon. Pwede pud sa Dumaguete n lng. Why not indeed? Basta kanang lugar nga naay wifi pud tawn Lord and accessible ra pud to Dumaguete lagi for my MBA klas. Amen, aloha! After going back and forth, morag sa VSU in Baybay Leyte n ko mobalhin pohon. Giapas jud ko nila lagi kay they need faculty daw so giopen jud nila ang item as Assistant Professor 2 kuno. Salamat kaju Sir Guiraldo for the opportunity. I'll wait if madajon b lagi ko pohon. Coz if naay moapply with better qualifications than me, then of course it won't be for me. Cge lang, ngita lng pud ko'g laing options. Sa HNU in Tagbilaran n mn lng ta ko lagi kay unay ra kajus Dumaguete for my lone MBA klas. Giconvince jud ko ni Sir Guiraldo Fernandez nga didto nila n kuno lagi. Na'koy misyon jud didto if madawat ko kay needed n mn pud ko didto this time. POPE BENEDICT XVI

On December 31, 2022, the former Cardinal Karl Ratzinger of Germany, Pope Benedict XVI passed on. Sad. He was the one who appointed Cardinal Tagle daw. May you rest in peace po. Amen.

DAVAO, DECEMBER 26 TO 31, 2022

Ate Jing and I went to Davao on those dates mentioned above. Sa funeral jud ta to ni Tiyo Joven, mahal n man kaju ang ticket lagi iparebook maong 2nd batch n lng mi ni Ate. Sakto ra jud diay kay kinugos man diay si Ate Ica ni Tiyo Joven. Last n pud tos ilang siblings, hurot n sila tanan. Mao lagi tong nidrama si Ate Ica when nagstorya sila ni Tata Davao on 12/26/22 afternoon. Kay nagdungan man ug tuig si Aunty Helen ug Tiyo Joven sa pagbiya niining kalibutana. Anyway, from 26 to 28 December we were in Lagunzad Compound, Apokon, Tagum, Davao del Norte. Then from there we proceeded to Tuganay, Carmen, Davao del Norte. We slept at the house of our 2nd cousin, Ronalyn Osis. Si Richard Loar, our other 2nd cousin picked us up from the terminal in Carmen. The next day December 30, they sent us to the house of Tiya Victoria Yu in Purok 15, San Vicente, Panabo, Davao del Norte. We had lunch there, meeting her other sisters Agripina, Aida and Shunie. After lunch, Angel graciously drove us to Buhangin, Davao City for the meetup with Don Celis, Ate Ica's high school friend. After that, didto mis Jollibee across the Davao airport to meet up with our agaw Johnrey Morales. Didto mi natulog sa iyang bay till 330am. Gihatod mi niyas Davao Airport. And that was the end of the trip. Thanks be to God, amen!
