Thanks a lot po for being a very gracious host. Nice ijang rocking chair sa terrace area. The next day I went to Power Plant Mall for the BDO Travel Sale. I need a credit card kay di ko kaafford mobook ug ticket lagi nga one time payment lang. So I applied already sa BDO. Naa ra daw motawag lagi. This afternoon pwede man pud ko moapply sa SM Baliwag lagi. Kung kinsa n lay mauna ug abot. Anyway pwede ra man na'g di ipa activate lagi. From April 4 to 6, 2024 ang Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo, Hawaii. 22 groups daw ang mojoin this year. I was able to watch the livestream for the Hula Kahiko; I hope makakita ra pud kos Hula Auana lagi. This year kay dihay taga Oakland, California lagi nga kumu hula nga morag related nilang King Kalakaua. I do learn some more jud about Hawaiian culture by watching these events. Go Doki!

ONLINE CLASSES DUE TO THE HEAT

In my Macro class last term, nigawas ang topic about Sister Cities. Of course, because Cebu City has many sister cities. Morag 5 man cguro to: Seattle, USA; Yokohama, Japan; Xiamen, China; Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Harlemmermeer in the Netherlands. Nagsugod n among Term 3 lagi. Okay ra ta ahong MTh kay 2 ra ang klases. But hagoas TF oi kay 4 klases jud lagi. 2 in the morning with TOU 231 and TOU 232. Though nice ra baja pud sila handlean. And I know many people already sa TOU 232 - sila Ashley Charmaine Valencia, Wendrea Clarin and Angel Marcelo from TCW klas last term then si Elron who is my friend from my Unit J days. Hago lng jud ang 4 hours straight kay summer pud lagi. But I think I just need to rest and eat a lot in order to recover my energy. Maniwang jud ko ani lagi Lord. Plan ko palit ug extension wire this afternoon. Kanang barato ra gud. Try nahos supermarket siguro. Then I have to pay P1,500 plus about P500 for my kuryente and tubig ug ang HOA pud sa Cebu nga P1,000. Nisakit ahong liog ron. I need to drink my Nutria n cguro. I will take them out from my maleta. This afternoon I have 1 to 3 pm PURCOM with COE 232 and Public Econ with Econ block. Out ko at 5pm pohon. I plan to get a haircut. Btw today I wore the black top that Mam Brenda gave me. Mam Mika said I look very pretty daw in it. Maraming salamat po. Then I was able to book for a place to stay nas Baguio pohon. Go Doki, kay 2013 p lagi diay ko last niadto. I was planning to go in October 2022 but wa nadajon lagi due to the Korean Air mishap didtos Mactan Cebu International Airport. Today 3/25/24 sugod n among Term 3 sa NU Baliwag lagi. But next week p jud lagi daw officially mosugod. I went to my classes today: Ethics with BPED/ABELS/Econ at 7 to 9am (25 daw sila but 16 ray nitunga) then EThics with PSY 231 at 1 to 3 pm. Mga 38 man cguro to ang naas class list and sobras 31 sila. I was busy typing my proposal on solar energy in Central Luzon for ERIA when nagthumbs up si Aloha sa akong msgs niya. Nananadya jud siya kay twas around 7pm diay sa Hawaii and 1pm here in Philippines. Then the next day, 3/24/24 I saw the post of our CDU IS alumna nga si Jann Marie Urgel (now Jao). She was in the UK daw for a few days kay she is now working for a UK company. Morag Business as Software b to ang name; Chief of Staff daw siya. She had a post from a certain college sa Cambridge University. Wow, wa p gani ko kaadto didto. So I wish her all the best. I learned from her that di lagi ilimit ang atong self. Go lng ng go jud lagi coz the world is our oyster. 20 hours gud daw iyang flight to the UK. Anyway, si Princess Catherine raba announced that she's undergoing treatment for cancer. Si King Charles is doing the same. O what has the world come to? Anyway, we will all get there ra lagi in time. Moadto kos Davao ig Holy Week pohon o dili? Morag maoy ahong huna2 lagi. Coz mahal kaju ang mga return flights from Cebu/Bohol. So I will think about it today. Sarado man gud ang SM Baliwag ig Holy Thursday lagi and Good Friday. Wala mi work this day kay holiday lagi. Actually I thought of responding to the ERIA Call for Proposals kay April 15 pohon ang deadline lagi. Uy, pagkagabii, I got a call man from SUMAS (Sustainability Mgmt School) in Switzerland. Sige lagi daw ko'g sign up sa webinars but I don't attend. I said kay busy lagi diri nya inconvenient ang time zone. So he said interested b daw kos ilang programs. I said yes but wala man koy scholarships lagi so basin di ko pwede. We will set up an online meeting daw next week. Wow, I pray for the best Lord. Then I checked their website today. Wala lagi scholarships ang doctorate program. So let's see. DEDICATION AND DETERMINATION

My good friend Mam Marivel Mangaluz told me that I have dedication daw and determination as a person and as a teacher. Daghang salamat Mam. Today 2/29/24 when I opened my Messenger, I saw Mam Marinelle's msg about the SPAFA Con in Bangkok in June pohon. I took it as a sign that madajon jud siguro lagi ko pohon. Pero naukay jud lagi tanan today kay nangdeduct ang HR sa among absences or late kuno. When I checked the record, isa ra juy nasakto. Nga wala koy out pag February 2 afternoon so gideductan ko ug 2 hours from 3 to 5pm. Ang February 5 5 to 7pm ug February 12 5 to 7 pm nga iyang ingon nga wa kuno koy time in and out. Today 4/30/24 I received reply from Heriot Watt University. They gave me contacts in order to book an appointment daw with their admissions team. Wow, naay chance. Who knows? Last 2/28/24 I saw a post from our ISS alumni coordinator Sandra Nijhof for PhD scholarships at their school. And I applied right away. So they would eventually tell me if I'll proceed to the next step, i.e. pangajuan n ko nila ug recommendation letters from my previous professors. Wow, I pray for the best Lord. Coz ang response sa University of Hawaii at Manoa is they have applied the residency rule daw. So I am not eligible since I am not there physically. Anyway, ang kanindut sa Heriot-Watt is they have campuses in UK but also in Dubai and Malaysia. So if madajon gani ko pohon, adto ra kos Malaysia magstudy so that duol ra kajus Pinas lagi. Y'day 2/26/24 I had a hearty reunion with Gillian Macintyre, my travel buddy from 23 yrs ago in Europe. She joined a cruise from Japan and they passed by Taiwan before docking in Manila. Kadyot ra gud pud sila kay tua n pud silas Boracay ron. Then they would go to Puerto Princesa pud daw then back to Hong Kong n siya where she will take the flight back to London then Port of Spain, Trinidad n kuno pohon. Wow, God is so good for allowing us the chance to meet up again. She said I forgot daw that I am Miss Adventurous in Europe 20 years ago. Tinuod, since NUS I have become a coward. Today she told me to look for a teaching job daw in Hawaii. And indeed I have done so. Niapply n ko as lecturer sa UH Manoa. They are looking for Lecturers man daw sa ilang Social Sciences Department. Swerte n kaju ko lagi kung mobawos to sila naho and they would consider me for interview. Today I also got email for a possible writing workshop by East West Center in Washington, DC this May. 2 days daw and it will be about the likely impact of the upcoming US presidential elections on the Indo-Pacific. Wow, God is really good. Amen. Tungod cguro kay nakita ko niya nga nagtan-aw atong conference announcement sa page ni Sir Randy Nobleza, I got the support of Doc Regz for the possible NCCA travel grant sa Bangkok conference in June pohon. I asked for Dr Dayao's support pud. He gave it right away. And tua n ang among application documents nila lagi. I submitted it to them last Saturday 2/17/24 via email. Gihabol n lng naho ang recomm letter from Dr Noel Hidalgo Tan. He gave it on 2/21/24. They acknowledged receipt of the documents already. Daghang salamat po Lord. All praise and glory be to You. Amen! Wait n lng mis ilang response. Hopefully kaming tanan sa panel lagi ang matagaan. Kay di jud lalim Lord ang gasto. Ang registration lng gud daan is $350 USD n each. I registered mga last week pud and I think 10,000 baht ahong mabayran and I chose to pay at the conference itself. Then ang airfare p ug kapuy-an namo didto. My plan now is buhaton ra tong Bangkok and possibly Malaysia conference in July lagi with Prof. Timothy Daniels of Hofstra University in New York. Either Singaporean iyang papa nya Pinay iyang mama or nahimo n lng jud siyang Singaporean national lagi ron. I do hope to see him pohon sa SEAMEO SPAFA conference from June 10 to 14, 2024. June 12 to 15 raba tong ahong ticket; I hope diha ra pud nga time ang among presentations lagi. Go go go Doki and aloha! :) In addition, I emailed the SVD mission n pud in the USA. But di n man lng kuno sija moapil lagi. Cge, all the best to us always. I told him that I am most likely going to Bangkok ig June lagi pohon. Coz ako may panel head so dapat naa ko didto mismo. And if makalugar p pud lagi. I can drop by PP on the way back. Sept 2018 p man diay ko last niapil ug conference; kadtong sa National Museum sa Manila lagi nga hatid sundo ko ni Ingko Lopoz bujag. AIM in Makati City, Philippines

I had my preliminary interview with them via Zoom last January 31 at 9am. Sila Dr Michelle Antero man to ang niinterview naho ug si Dr Oliver Roche. Giclarify lng nila kung unsay ahong plano lagis ahong PhD. Kay if you want to be an academic, requirement lagi daw ang PhD. I was just honest with them. I said if klaro n naho kung asa n naho magamit then aho ng tiwason lagi. I received email last Monday, February 5 that wala lagi daw ko nadawat. So I will move on with my plans. I pray for the best. I paid P599.00 for it; thankfully dihay promo. Ang load pud kay P290.00 nga card. Tonight 1/24/24 gusto n pud siya ug session kay gusto siya nga kadtong Chapter 15 sa iyang book on Managerial Econ lagi maoy idiscuss. Sus sa bay n jud ko ani lagi pohon, masubhan n jud ang ahong WiFi modem lagi nga gipalit last week. Or the week before p. Around the time man to lagi nga didto n pud sila Biboy sa Cebu, so January 10, 2024 p to. Interview man diay ta kos AIM ron via Zoom but shelved sa lagi kay nagka emergency kunos Dr Michelle Antero. I wish her a speedy recovery. Mag midterms ko in most of my classes ig Thursday and Friday p pohon. Thankfully si Mam Mika printed my TCW and Ethics exams already. DENMARK ROYALTY

Last Sunday, January 14, 2024, Crown Prince Frederik became King Frederik X after Queen Margrethe II signed the official papers of abdication. His wife, Australian-born Crown Princess Mary also became Queen Mary. Twas history in the making as Queen Margrethe II reigned for 52 years. She would've wanted to be queen for life but her back surgery daw gave her a lot of time to think about things. So si Prince Christian who is their eldest child became the Crown Prince now that his father is the sovereign. Long live Danish Royalty, go go go! ;)

NEDA 3

This afternoon 1/17/24, the AB Econ students and I with Sir Ron Cruz and Mam Abigail Pengson went to NEDA Region 3 in San Fernando, Pampanga. They accommodated us well. Sir Ron brought some NU Baliwag merchandise; I also gave Mam Ina Chrisia de Jesus, my new friend my NL notebook from April last year plus the notepads from Mam Jessica and the one I bought sa EGG in SM Baliwag. Coz I got a CLRDP in return so I'm sure it was a fair exchange. They even said they were willing to hold a briefing in our school or come here in future. Ang ilang Regional Director man gud kuno kay maoy advocacy mao tong 3 presentations among naabtan didto oi. Tuo mi'g kadyot ra mi didto; sus nadugay n jud nuon ang nagdali. We somehow strengthened our bond siguro as a group. Lingawa ni JB oi who shouted 'napakapogi ko' from the van window on our way home. Kani laging game2. Actually Mam Ina gave me an old souvenir p jud. But I gave it to Bairadin Ebus, one of our students kay siya may ahong tupad. Go go go Doki, aloha! ;) The lesson I learned this afternoon diay is that if you have a vision but no action or planning, wala ring mangyayari.. So go go go n Doki, aloha! ;)

THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

And it made all the difference. Amen po. Mao lagi daw challenge for all of us - to take the road less travelled. AIM FACULTY POSITION

Y'day I received email from AIM regarding my application as faculty member of their Development Management program. Wow. They asked me if I've finished my PhD studies nb daw. They also asked for my updated CV. I said wa p ko nahuman lagi. And I updated my CV to include my speaking engagements last October 2023 sa JustRemit and the other one for SEAMEO SPAFA Bangkok this June 2024. I pray naay nice result lagi. I reviewed my email; March last year p diay ko nag apply and they said they will deliberate lagi. Sus, almost one year pud ang deliberation oi. I pray for the best. Sa Makati diay ilang office. I know that nice ug reputation ni nga school. Hago man gud pud diris NU lagi kay trimester, paspas kaju ang pace. So si Lord n ang bahala. Amen!

CEBU EVENTS: OJT IN CEBU, MISS UNIVERSE CEBU

My nephew Nathaniel Roba Batausa is now in Cebu with 6 of his klasm8s kay mag intern lagi kuno sila didto. Sus xempre, mabusy pud ko kay by default, ako bjay dugay nagpujo didto. I asked him too to pay for the property tax sa bay and sa water bill. So far so good. My neighbor Susan msgd me pud to say that nakabantay siya lagi nga tua nay tawo didto. In turn, I told her pud nga tan-aw tan-awn n lng pud sila lagi kung kumusta n. Sa Monday January 15 kuno pohon paadtoon n kuno silas ilang opisina. Told them to leave the house early. Mga 2 months ra man sila mag intern pohon kay 486 hours man daw they have to do. So all the best to them always! On another note, si Abrine Barro msgd me pud kay gusto kuno pud siya mag intern sa YCAPS if possible. I emailed John Bradford already; wait n lng kos iyang reply. All the best always! Last is si Michaela Batausa. She is our relative who is currently vying for Miss Universe Cebu. I msgd her and nibawos siya today. She needs financial support daw kay gamay ra daw gihatag lagis municipality of Alegria. She is now part of our GC and sa Batausa All over the world pud nga page. Gusto lagi sila magreunion oi kay dugay n man gud to kaju lagi nga nagreunion mi. Sila Tiyo Felimon man lagi ang main financiers ato. Go go go to us all and aloha! ;)

Ay grabe! Dr Eva Rose Washburn-Repollo of Chaminade University actually worked with Olelo in the past. Ugh, does that mean she knows Mr X? She led a group of people daw in her Cebuano Language class on a tour to Cebu b to many years back. Sus pastilan. She told me to email her back sometime soon. Ana n lng jud akong buhaton lagi Lord. I met them during the PDFNI Christmas Party in UPLB last December 9, 2023. Today, isa k GC n mi oi. Coz I told them about Inter Nations and my ganap here in Bulacan or Metro Manila. He is my seatmate sa office and today we talked. He is a historian or social scientist jud. So I referred him to Instituto Cervantes de Manila so that he can take advantage of programs dun sa Spain. All the best always Sir and more power to us this new year! ;)

Today 1/3/24 kay nagdata gathering man lagis Dr Dayao namo. He had us answer a two-page questionnaire about our research needs. After I filled out mine, I talked to him and told him that I will introduce him to my LDE contacts. I forwarded the emails n to him. Basin diay madayon ang Zoom lagi. ULI CEBU DECEMBER 2023

These were the people I met during the short vacation that I had to Cebu: December 26 - lunchtime sila Sir Max, Sir Vlad ug Sir John sa Bonchon Chicken in SM City Mabolo. They referred me to Sir Rave Axle for my GSK research. Nagstorya n mi; ifollowup daw siya ig January 5 pohon for our possible online interview on January 6, 2024 pohon At 2pm si Mam Fe Imbong n pud sa The Chocolate Chamber in Robinson's Galleria Cebu. She treated me to biko and sikwate there. Then at 4pm si Mam Jessica Uy sa Jollibee in Ayala. She gave me a set of masks, notepad and payong. Ang notepad ray ahong gidala; gibilin p jud naho ang nice wood casing lagi. Wa man koy bagahe n lagis eroplano pagbalik. December 27 - met with Candice for dinner at Orange Brutus SM. I gave her the scarf that Inday X gave me last year December 29 - met with Mam Ophel at Jollibee Parkmall in the morning. She gave me a personalized pink towel. She paid me P400 to. Then si Mam Beth n pud after. We went to Japan Home Centre where I bought Loyd's mint tea with ginger, the mirror that I gave to Mam Kristine de Jesus, the luggage tag then the konjic jelly fruit candy. Then we went to American Bazaar where I bought a set of wniteboard markers and a candle too. Then we went to Miniso in Parkmall. Wala koy napalit didto. She was able to buy a present there for her nephew. Then we had some drink at Crema in Parkmall. Salamat kaju Mam Beth, all the best to us always! Hilig ug mountain climbing si Mam. She was here in Metro Manila actually when I was new here. Sila Sir Max pud. But I wasn't confident p man gud to travel that time so sa Cebu n lng naho sila gikita. Wa n mi magkita nila Jacy, Luchie and all friends. Wa n gani ko kauli ug Bohol. Cge po, sa uulitin!

NEW YEAR 2024 PRESENTS

My colleague Mam Marinelle Domingo gave me a present which is a wallet from Davao. Wow, salamat kaju Mam. Tua p man koy gigamit lagi nga wallet from Madon from Mongolia so sa sunod n lng siguro to naho gamiton pohon. Then late in the afternoon, Mam Girlie also gave me a block of chocolates with hazelnuts. Wow! God bless us all in the new year and aloha! :)

Wa n lng ko niuli ug Bohol kay busy pud lagi ko'g andam sa Palm Heights kay mag intern sila Biboy didto sugod January 15 daw pohon. Magstorya ra man mis Messenger pud so okay ra.
