BACK IN CEBU

After 6 weeks in Bohol, I came back to Cebu today at around 1pm. 10am ang among barko but nadugay due to the strong winds. Sa 7/11 at Bayfront Hotel n mi naniudto ni Ate Ica then nagtaxi n mi padung Palm Heights. Nanglakaw sila Nang Anel, wa p mauli tonight nga past 7pm n. Nakaimpake n ko and nakacheck-in namong duha ni Ate Ica to Davao ugma pohon. Excited n pud among cousins didto kay nag-ask n mn kung unsa kuno mi orasa maabot. Hopefully on time ra ang flight. It will actually be my 1st time to fly after the pandemic so medyo excited pud. Jia you Doki, pagpaniwang n pud. Nalipay pud among silingan nga nabalik n ko. God bless us all, good night!

At the start of winter this year, there is an Arctic blast or bomb cyclone in North America. Sus, halos tibuok US mainland oi ang under severe weather alert. Mao pud sa Canada. Sa Seattle and Vancouver jud lagi first niigo then all the way across the entire North American continent n. Chat mi ni Dexter ganihang buntag. He will binge on Netflix n lng kuno for the entire holiday season. Heheh. Si Mam Girly Visto is in California daw oi. Wow! Enjoy Mam. Tua man siya'y sister kuno didto nga nagminjo ug Amerikano. Yesterday 12/23/22 p lng lagi daan sa hapon, when I went out kita n kos dark clouds foreboding a storm. Dali2 n lng pud ko ug uli. Pagkagabii sus, lagubo n ang atup oi. Abi naho ug matanggal n pud to. Thankfully wala ra man. I took a raincheck n lng on the trip to Cawayanan. Si Ate Ica n lng. Maghatod ra sija diay kunos pinaskohan ni Mikayla sa anak ni Abigail ug ni Patrick kay ija mn ng mga kinugos lagi. I have also decided to still make Cebu as my base for my upcoming job with the DA-7. Kay duol ra man kaju lagi ang ilang opisina sa Palm Heights. Atbang ra gud n silas Pacific Mall. Bahala n lng lagi tos Mikayla. Ignore n lng. I'll make sure n lng nga wa ko didto if naa sija. There's this priest whose homilies I've been following these days: Fr. Jowel Jomarsus Gatus of San Fernando, Pampanga. CDU SOCSCI

I've been with CDU Social Sciences Department for 12 years now. Di ra hibaw-an no. Dali ra mn gud lagi kaju molabay ang one sem then another sem n pud then summer. And before we know it, the entire academic year is over n. Daghan pud ug kuti2 among new dean oi kay magsubmit daw ug letter of intent to teach in the new semester ang mga term hires in January pohon along with their syllabuses kuno and class record from the previous sem. COUSINS' BONDING

During the lunch at Gerarda's restaurant last October 29, 2022 for Papa's death anniversary. Si Ate Wewens broached the idea kuno of bonding among us cousins lagi. Actually magkita man mis birthday ni Patrick sa Matabao but morag kadtong sa Panglao p diay in May 2015 siguro ang last bonding among us cousins. Or sa Pangangan a few years ago nga thanksgiving b to ni Dodong. Lingaw man kaju tong among May 2013 gud sa Anda with the late Ate Cecil. We have so many relatives in Mindanao jud kay it was once dubbed the Land of Promise man lagi in the 1950s. Si anhing Tiyo Joven lang daan and his family are in Tagum, Davao Oriental. Then among maternal grandfather has another family in Maramag, Bukidnon. 7 daw sila tanan igsoona; I met Aunty Marci Ruba last end April gani sa Cebu. Then sila Andamon-Medidas pud in Valencia, Bukidnon. Tua p sila Tiyo Nostring diay sa Carmen, Davao del Norte. Morag unahan sa Panabo man siguro to. Basta kay katuod ra kos ila lagi if tua n ko. Then I'm sure sa Lantapan, Bukidnon ug sa Bayugan, Agusan del Norte tua pud mi mga paryente lagi didto. At the funeral of the late Tiya Imping sa Valencia in February 2016. There was mom's relative from Lantapan, Bukidnon who asked me kinsa kuno ko. She was amazed that daku n daw ko kaju. Xempre, pila ray paglabay sa mga katuigan lagi. Btw excited diay si Ate Ica sa among Davao trip pohon kay 2018 p kuno sija last nakasakay ug eroplano. Ako kay July 2019 p during my trip to Hawaii. God bless us all always. Aloha!

1 YEAR SINCE ODETTE

Today 12/16/22 I became busy in the morning kay Christmas party nila JM. Instead of buying pork liempo as his contribution to their Xmas party in school. I bought pork n lng which I saw by the roadside and cooked it as adobo. I sent it to their classroom and on my way back, I ran into a good high school friend, si Razelle Alima Boloico. Daghan pud mi naistoryahan oi, most especially lovelife jud. Diha pud sila Biboy nilabay and friends when we were talking. Adto jud kunos seryoso lagi. DR. JOSE RIZAL

He is our national hero. Naa jud courses in History about him. He is from Calamba, Laguna but he studied in Europe. Eventually he would be martyred on 30 December 1896 which we commemorate as Rizal Day. I dunno why but during December masulod ra pud xas akong thoughts. He and many others who studied in Europe man gud like the Lunas, Pardo de Tavera, Graciano Lopez Jaena etc ang mga workers for Philippine Independence. And at present, si Howie Severino of GMA-7 ang akong nahibaw-an nga sumusunod ni Jose Rizal lagi. He has documentaries lagi of the places where Rizal had been, so literally he is walking on his footsteps. Jia you! ;)

CEBU

My good friend from NUS days, Jonathan Coronel, who used to teach at DLSU said that he'll be in Cebu kuno from December 17 to 19. Ngayo n lng pud siya ug recommendations on where to stay etc. At first he said layover ra daw nga 4 hours kay CDO jud lagi kuno iyang punta. Sige po, salamat for choosing to stay in Cebu after all. MARIA CLARA AT IBARRA

GMA-7 has a very interesting historical drama this time called Maria Clara at Ibarra, starring Barbie Forteza, Julie Ann San Jose, Dennis Trillo and David Licauco, based on the novel Noli Me Tangere of Jose Rizal. Actually I haven't read it myself. Si Jayeel quoted a chapter jud from it, Chapter 29 I think and used it on his FB before. And sila Sir Leloy kay named after those characters jud buyag: siya kay Lisandro Elias and his brothers are Basilio and Redd. I dunno hahaha. Cge po. Aloha!

Today has been a really busy day. I started this morning with finding tickets for Ate Wewens from Davao to Cebu on either December 19 or 20 pohon. Then I went outside to pay her ticket. I was able to do it at 7/11 in Tubigon, Bohol beside the plaza. Thanks Lord. From there I took a bus to Tagbilaran to have my boat ticket refunded. Sus, 300+ ang nakaltas oi. Basta kuwang ra ibayad sa ahong water bill lagis Cebu kay for disconnection n daw per Nang Anel's msg on Messenger. Ang VECO kay nabayran ra man naho via Gcash. Salamat sa Diyos. So from the Trans-Asia booking office in Palma Street, Tagbilaran City, I went looking for the Wealth Bank office in Tagbilaran. Thankfully I remembered that duol xas Cathedral. So I had lunch first at Jollibee across BQ then I went to Wealth Bank Tagbilaran na. Wala ra may tawo didto and they even gave me a free calendar for 2023. From there I went to the Cathedral n lng pud and bought religious calendars for 2023. One is the Holy Family and the other is Our Lady of Manaoag. The former ang naas Tinangnan while the latter I gave to Gypsy for their house in Sagbayan. Then I went home n via Cititransport. Dugay pud nahong hinuwat oi. Katulo gud ko nag-CR and every time I'd pay 2 pesos. Heheh. Sige lang. Nakadiscount mn pud kos tricycle kay 25 pesos ra may gikuha ni Kuya Driver instead of 30 pesos that he said before I got in. She's my former student sa Economics class at CDU. We became friends. Iyang anak man jud ang nag-eskwela ug Dentistry sa CDU. Gipaeskwela n lng pud siya ug Nursing sa iyang husband nga Norwegian. I msgd her lately coz I thought of her. Giinvite p ko niya ug kasal kuno ni Manrique nga iyang klasm8 ig Dec 19 pohon. Wa n lng ko mocommit coz busy p lagis grado. But I do hope to return to Cebu soon coz Dec 21 lagi pohon ang last office day kunos CDU. I plan to get my 10 kls of rice from our admin plus my 5 kilos rice from CDUCOOP and my P500 nga GC. When I woke up yday 12/9/22, I read a private msg from my cousin Chrismarie Batausa Parcon in Tagum that their father, my uncle Jovencio Rafols Batausa is gone. Siya raba jud last nilang igsoona nga buhi. Sila Nang Anel ug Ate Wewens n ang moadto pohon to attend the burial. Sa December 26 to 31 n mi pohon ni Ate Ica kay tua p mn pud mi ticket lagis Cebu Pacific. We last saw them during Holy Week April 2019 coz I wanted to see them before I flew to Hawaii. Si Bantil may nawani ato coz she said magbisita iglesia man kuno sija ug magdetox maong wa namo ubana. Heheh. Cge po.

JULY 2023

He said that they have tickets daw to come here in July 2023 pohon. Graduation trip daw for his daughter who is graduating from high school in July 2023 pohon. I actually don't know where I'll be by then but I just said I do hope to meet you here. Ginoo nay mahibaw sa tanan oi. Gudnyt!

DECEMBER 2022

Today, I am happy that I got to reach Sky Cable in Bakilid, Mandaue City. I told them that I would like to have my wifi subscription disconnected. Ahak oi, mahal kaju ang disconnection fee which is 2k kuno. Ngeh, I'll keep my subscription n lng oi at 1k per month. Unya n naho ipaputol pohon if barato n ang disconnection fee. Jia you Doki. One last class for tomorrow then the semester will be out. Salamat po Lord! All praise and glory be to You! Nakatrabaho man kos akong class record gamay this afternoon as well as tua n koy final test sa akong IS classes. Over the weekend, I got to know the Ocampo missionaries who are in Kenya. They are from the Philippines but their son, Solomon is married to a Kenyan woman, Elizabeth Muyu and they now have 4 lovely children. Hahay, life of missionaries. Jia you Doki, aloha! ;) We have to be broken in order to be shared. Mao jud nay akong need huna2on kanunay, Lord. Amen.

MAUNA LOA ERUPTION

Sus, since late Sunday night daw sa Hawai'i, shortly after Thanksgiving, on November 27th, 2022 Mauna Loa started erupting. Its last eruption was in 1984 p daw. Pastilan, dual eruption sa Hawaii with Kilauea and Mauna Loa. But the more spectacular one is Mauna Loa of course. Its name means Long Mountain in Hawaiian. Incidentally, 5 volcanoes daw oi make up the Big Island, with claims of 2 underwater. Intawn. Ang Camiguin kay 7 man daw n k bulkan and I forgot nas Taal kung pila. Morag less than 2 weeks ra lagi ang Mauna Loa eruption. Just when the lava flow was about 1.7 or 1.8 miles away from Saddle Road or Daniel K Inouye Highway, it stopped. Wahh, somebody prayed for it to stop? Amazing! God bless us all, aloha! ;)

This CDU-IS student, Maria Venice Tablada has become my friend jud Lord. Since we chatted last December 16, 2021, just hours before Odette (Rai). Like a diamond that needs to be polished ang among topic ato. This time kay simplicity n pud. I told her that I miss who I am in Cambodia because deep down. I am just a very simple girl. Taga bukid ra kos Cawayanan, Tubigon, Bohol lagi. So let's see which of the plans ang matuman. Nagpapansin man diay tawn siya in the past oi with his entry to the Angkor Wat Half Marathon (AWHM) and with the Globalteer Junior Soccer League. Well, saun mn lagi nga blind man ta asahay. Morag kabayo lagi daw nga naay blinders, limited ug sight kay side to side ra. Pareha b ang sight ug vision? Ate Ica said memories n lng daw to tanan lagi. Morag di p ko kadawat Lord. JOE AND SVETO

The surprises for my birthday this year were the birthday greetings I received from Joe Allen, my American co-volunteer in Cambodia and from Svetozar Risteski who is from Skopje, Macedonia. Busy man si former while dugay2 n jud ko wa kadungog from the latter so I told him 'what happened to you?' Lawyer bitaw ni siya kuno with the Council of Europe. I think I met him way back 1998 p and we didn't meet in person when I was in Europe. He has a son n pud daw. Is he married to the mother of that son? I always remember his birthday coz the day after man sa birthday ni good friend Weng Mantaring. Good luck to us all!

On this day, I met with very good friends from high school at SM City Cebu. First si Rhona Marie Caingles Noquiao coz namaylo siya ug ibayad sa ilang new boarding house lagi in Pelaez Street, Cebu City. She is with CNU now so maglakaw n lng kuno sila to school and her kids pud. Then nagkita pud mi ni Zacarias Veloso Jr. who was going back to Hong Kong the next day. Kataw-anan kaju kay nadugay sija kay nagpahilot p lagi kuno. Ako sad nipalit ug haplas pud sa SM kay gipanuhot ahong likod lagi. I told him that mga tiguwang n lagi mi. He is one year older man diay namo. Upon landing in Hong Kong, nagpositive p jud kuno xas covid. Saun nagtika2 n mn to siya lagi kay nag-overnight ila Barby Tan sa Canduman. Today 12/1/22 I emailed my application to teach at BISU Main Campus in Tagbailaran City, Bohol. Coz Sir Bernabe Mijares told me they have a part-time opening daw for a Social Science teacher. Wow, niacknowledge pud bya ug receipt sa akong email. So naay chance diay nga mainterview siguro ko ani pohon. If wala then adto n lng kos VSU pohon in Baybay, Leyte. Agwantahon n lng nako ang byahe sa barko. Laju2 jud to nuon. But nice ra man ang pay package and tua mn pud sila Ate Alfea Javier lagi and family didto. Tua pud si Allondra nga anak ni Doris. On Novemeber 25, 2022, Tagbilaran n pud ahong giadto in order to see my good friend, Ate Rosemary Zacal who is faculty of HNU in Dampas. Yesterday I went to visit Janice Pojas in Canmaya Diot, Sagbayan, Bohol and Doris Daigan in Ubay, Bohol. Grabeng suroy2 oi. But I'm very happy I was able to do the trip. Nice kaju ang Sagbayan lagi kay naay hills sa Chocolate Hills imong makita every day. It's like Legazpi nga naay Mayon everyday. Salamat. Btw, morag naa ra koy mabalhinan lagi pohon nga eskwelahan. For this year's birthday, I gave a simple lunch treat to my colleagues at CDU. Si Mam Liezl Gantuangco n ang nagfacilitate sa lunch with the help of Sir Max Capala and Mam Ophel Gabrillo. Pansit guisado, lechon manok ug chopsuey with rice and drinks ra gud ilang gipangkaon. In the evening kay didto mi nagdinner sa Bazak Food Park. Nice ilang American Boodle oi. Amen. MEMORIES

"Memories are times that we borrow. To spend when we get to tomorrow" Ate Ica told me that memories n lng lagi daw tong Cambodia namo in the past. Lingaw mn jud to kaju lagi Lord. At the same time, I was teaching pud at Western International School in Toulkork and in the beginning, I was volunteering to teach English at CWF in Toul Tompoung. That's where I met Teacher Mr Nick and the late Neville Tickner. He died in Dien Bien Phu (DBP), Vietnam in late January 2020. Kay wala n mn momsg si Teacher Mr Nick so kalimtan n lng jud kuno to siya lagi aron di kuno magubot akong utok. I am very grateful Lord that even till now. Ig uli namo ig k gabii, magchika ra jud mi till usigon n lng mis iro sa akong landlords. Then Sunday morning will just be relax and chill at Citimall Olympic. Pastilan n lng jud lagi. Happy ra pud mi ni Ate Ica that nakasuroy jud si Mama lagis PP even once before she bid goodbye to this world. MISSIONARY

I do have an inclination to be missionary jud. Because of the University of San Carlos (USC) where I did my university which is an SVD (Society of the Divine Word) school. In Holland, our unacknowledged leader, Fr. Jovic Lobrigo also took us on his many outings/masses with the Filipino communities there. And in Cambodia, very active man mi ni Ate Ica so ingrained jud nas among brain ang mission lagi. This time I consider my colleague Ms Ophelia Gabrillo as my mission. Kay willing man jud siya lagi mouban nako diris Palm Heights and to listen to my story. Then nigawas nga daghan diay pud Koreans nagkagusto niya in the past nya wa niya pansina. She realized after talking to me that she missed too many opportunities in life. Na'pa xay bisyo nga wala p niya maovercome. Salamat po Lord for her company during my times of distress. I am now in Bohol and thinking of where to move lagi in January 2023 pohon. For retirement n cguro ni. God bless us all and aloha!

Nisakit akong likod rong panahona and I have a hard time standing. Tungod siguros tigtugnaw n lagi; nisuol n ang arthritis. My sister Analili told me to take Omega 3. So I took out my age-old Squalene tablets. Iwalking jud ni nako every day with Mam Ophel who is now giving me company. Thanks po Lord. I went to Simala last Sunday 11/6/22 and I got my last sign that siya jud lagi ang gusto sa akong papa. Didto jud sa 'looks fade' lagi. Anlene ra diay solution; I just need more calcium in my body. Thanks po Lord for Mam Ophel. She gave me company in Palm Heights till I went home last Friday, November 11 sa gabii. Then si Mam Kath Quijano helped me to get to Pier 3. I have thought of visiting Singapore at the end of this month nga Intrams namo lagi. Sus, February 2008 p ko nibiya lagi didto and never been back. Last June 2020 I had a ticket but it got cancelled lagi due to the pandemic. Di n lng diay ko modayon kay naapiki ko ug book sa ticket. Mahal n kaju ang SG lagi. And I don't feel good lng about it. Sus, I have to visit her wake diay. I was able to last Tuesday October 11 in the morning. Timing kay midterms week lagi namo last week. Rest in peace po. Today 9/27/22 I saw from the ISS community FB page a short-term housing consultancy from Rosalux in Metro Manila. Actually PH/MY/INA ang scope. For Philippines lang akong nasubmit. I worked on it right away coz Sept 30 at 8pm Phil. time daw ang closing date. Ang akong LDE housing proposal ra gud akong giedit and akong gipun-an ug gamay info to suit what they wanted. Wow, I feel good lagi about it Lord. Amen. Actually if makuha to nako, I will have money n to buy my air ticket to Hawaii pohon. She is Maria Josephine Sanchez or Josa, a fellow ISS alumna. I met her during the SRHR refresher course in October 2011. She was working for an NGO then in Metro Manila. After a few years, I heard from her and she was in the Middle East n. Then during the lockdown she said she was out of job and that her brother is working here in Cebu. Then the next thing I knew, she was in California n daw. She said she worked for a victim center something. I am very happy to talk to her on Messenger this morning. She encouraged me jud. Baw lagi Josa oi. Lisud kaju ang sitwasyon lagi. May ma'g piso ra lagi ang magasto if moadtos Hawaii pohon. But I do pray for guidance always. And I do keep the faith. Aloha! Their 2 kids are named after their 2 patron saints, St. Anthony and St. Padre Pio. Antonia/Anya ang girl nya Antonio/Nio ang boy. On September 19th 2022, the late Queen Elizabeth II was buried. So many dignitaries and world leaders were there including Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands with former Queen Beatrix. For Denmark it was Crown Prince Frederick who went along with his mother Queen Margrethe. For Sweden it was King Gustav and diha pud si King Harald of Norway. Taasas prusisyon lagi oi thru the streets of London involving the military. It will be a new era jud with King Charles III as the new monarch. God bless the United Kingdom, God bless the King! :)

Namatay man si Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom last Thursday Sept. 8 didtos UK. So si Prince Charles is now King Charles III and si Prince William is the new Prince of Wales, making his wife Catherine the new Princess of Wales. 40 yrs old n daw si Prince William diay; he has 3 children. The surprise for today is Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex joining William and Kate in greeting the crowds at Windsor Castle. Pastilan jud ning mga Briton lagi. Diha man toy rift lagi between William and Harry following the Oprah interview. Diha gud sa taliwa ni William and Harry si cousin nila Mark Tindall during the funeral of Prince Phillip of Edinburgh in September last year. Well, family is family. So all's well that ends well. Today I read on our GC that there's a new IS student nga shiftee from Medtech, si Miss Audrey Mae Godinez. She's in my Econ 111 and IS 112 classes. So ang among 1st year now kay 4 (Lane, Dani, Eli, Ronen) nya 6 ang 2nd year siguro (Sean, Angeli, Brian, Paez, Elizabeth and Audrey) nya 3 ang 3rd year (Abrine, Venice and Maxine) and 2 ang 4th year (Mary and Steffi). We are growing and we will endeavor to grow some more. Go go go! ;)

I forgot that it's that time of the year n pud diay. Since Labor Day is approaching in the USA, time n pud diay for the Hawaii United Okinawa Festival by the Hawaii United Okinawa Association (HUOA). Morag 75 years n sila.. Ang ilang center is in Waipio diay. Last year kay virtual man so I was able to watch some of their activities online. Mao tong dihay nijoin nila from Argentina via Zoom. And of course, the veteran journalist Pamela Young joins KHON 2 Living 808 in promoting Okinawa. Nice jud sija tinuod kay group of islands man lagi so it has nice white sand beaches. And of course, they have their famous andagi and andadog plus dishes that use pork and sweet potato and coconut cream etc. Mora2 ra pud sila ug mga Pinoy magluto. Jia you to us all! ;)

Today 8/28/22, after nanglakaw sila Nang Anel ug JM kay nangari for the weekend (meeting sa rotary plus shoes etc nila), nakalugar n jud tawn ko'g karaw2 sa akong mga need buhaton. Salamat tawn sa Diyos kay holidays ang Aug 29 (National Heroes Day) ug Aug 30 (Mandaue City Charter Day) so makahabol kos akong need trabahuon lagi. Ang course guide sa Intro to Public Ad ni Steffi, lesson 1s for this week ug collage siguro checkan. Basta after sa akong kabusyhan sa klases, adto n pud kos thesis lagi. Paningkamotan jud lagi naho nga maka-UREC ko this sem so that data gathering n ko next sem pohon. Bahala ug 1 to 2 subjects n lng ko next sem phon lagi basta kay makafocus kos akong thesis and makahuman pohon. Ay I asked him diay if he doesn't get tired of talking to me. ANDAMON RELATIVES

Towards the end of this week, I played host to our Andamon relatives in Cabuyao, Laguna and Legazpi, Albay. Namatay man gud ilang igsoon nga si Aunty Nenen sa Lantapan, Bukidnon maong from there, nihapit n lng pud silas Bohol then Cebu. On Thursday 8/25/22 sa gabii, akong gitagbo si Jacky sa pier 3. The next morning ako siyang gihatod sa airport kay for Iloilo siya to visit her sister there. Then mga 1030am, sila Uncle Boy, Aunty Necie and her son Tein n pud ang niabot sa Cebu. I met them at the port then lukat mi ticket sa Pier 1 then Santo Niño mi kay nidagkot sila. After that, nangari mi kadyot sa Palm Heights aron makapahuway sila'g gamay. 7pm p man ilang barko to Masbate. May n lng lagi tawn nakatuyhad sila for 1 to 2 hours. Tan-aw pud sila ug Showtime. Sus 3rd set of visitors n jud lagi to naho sila this month. 1st kay sila Dodong Voltaire man from Aug 10 to 13. Then sila Nang Anel last Aug 20 and 21. Nibalik p jud sila Nang Anel this weekend kay attend siya ug meeting kunos Escario sa Rotary and mangita kuno pud sila ug school shoes ni JM. Kompleto gud ang serbisyo sa wifi, TV ug aircon. Our returning student Mary Tabuñag enrolled this semester and gusto daw siya mograduate within the school year. Nahuman n man daw siya ug internship diay. Kaweird b. But sige n lng. I thought pwede siya mag-intern next sem or summer but diay man diay. I will just tell John Bradford accordingly. Wala jud ta kahibaw lagis plano sa Ginoo. Aloha Doki! ;)

Kay aho n mn pud ingnan si Mam Jhe nga by arrangement n lng siya kay daghan n lagi kaju ko ug klases. Asa p man ko ug time lagi nga itrabaho anis akong thesis plus kadtong sa LDE if madayon pud to? Well, hinay2 n lng jud Doki. Coz wala p may feedback from LDE in Holland lagi. I only submitted my draft last weekend. Usually bakasyon p mn ron ang mga tawo sa Europe so I'd have to give them about a week jud for their feedback. Sakto ra pud kaju nga holiday man ig Lunes lagi pohon and possibly Martes pud so makatrabaho ra lagi kos ahong need trabahuon. After seeing Mike's pics on FB from their NorCal trip, I msgd him y'day afternoon to say that I don't know my cousin after all. I can't relate man to his love of golf and to overall jud. We were just hi/hello ra lagi on Messenger till he invited me to Hawaii last July 2019 for his wedding. I said it was just because of me being single that I got invited as well as my 3rd sister to that trip. Iya ra mn pud gibasa dayon but wala p lagi siya nireply. Jia you to us always. And Mam Jhe told me on the chat today that nienrol n daw pud si Steffi sa International Econ ug Intro to Public Ad lagi. But paid as 1 unit ra daw so that gamay ra ang iyang mabayran. Sakto ra pud kay I plan nga by arrangement lng siya lagi kay siya ra man isa. Anyway, mga 15 jud lagi tanan among students this sem from 1st yr to 4th yr. They are my colleagues teaching at our senior high school (SHS). Lingawa lagi nako yday 8/19/22 in CDU coz I talked to Mam Karen Rubillos man. Ako jud xang gichika lagis ilang new faculty room. Yday 8/17/22 in the afternoon we had an assembly of the IS students and the Social Sciences Faculty. There were 10 students overall who came: 4 from the 1st year group, 3 from the 2nd years, 2 from the juniors and one for the seniors (I suppose). They were: 1st years: Bollozos, Dani Faye; Limosnero, Elisha Mae; Quiamco, Lovers Lane and Tan, Ronen (younger brother of our alumnus, Tan, Rainier). Na'pa daw shiftee from Medtech but wala p naenrol siguro. Yehey! 2nd years: Sean Honorio, Angeli Bandillo and Dean Brian Baricuatro (absent si Elizabeth Yoo ug nalate si Joseph Matthew Paez; si Lily will not be enrolling daaw this year) Juniors: Abrine Bagis and Venice Tablada (si Maxine kay morag wala nienrol, si Urot pud kay morag wala p dawata nga mobalik) Seniors: Mary Tabuñag (wala p daw nienrol si Steffi). Go go go, we will endeavor to increase our student population. Amen! We had 12 faculty members also who were there along with our chair, Ms Jehanne Macarimbang: Monsieurs Raymund Silot, Arnold Luminado, Jef Francis Lim, Dale Trizer Mansueto, Haryl Ondo, Neil Diola, me, Bil Rodriguez, Alan Tabanao, Erwin Ybiernas, John Virgil Ouano, Max Capala. And by God's grace, nasaka ra lagi ang plastic cabinet sa taas y'day afternoon and nahuman naho ug balhin ahong mga butang by today 8/13/22. Sus daghan kaju ko ug mga sanina oi nga nakatago lng lagis plastic drawers ni Nang Anel. Aho tong pangsul-obon pohon. And nakalimot n lagi pud ko that I have those clothes and other stuff. On Tuesday 8/9/22 I was able to visit my classmates Mam Vi and Sir Nante in BISU Bilar. Busy man sila kay graduation lagi so wa n kaju mi nagstorya. Importante nagkita lagi kadyot after covid. I met one of Mam Vi's staff, si Kath Lagorin. I'm helping her out pud in order to hopefully land a PhD scholarship in Holland or somewhere nga naay snow. Fingers crossed. Si Fr Nilo ang nagmisa ug diha ang ilang mga ig-agaw sa Gingoog nga mga Gallana. Chika pud mi gamay ni Fr Nilo ug ni Tiya Peling, the surviving spouse. Sa Catarman lagi ng ijang tindahan. He will be replaced by Sam Baron daw. We wish him all the best. I don't have his email address man diay. I would've wanted to email him. And then when I checked the YCAPS website again today. I saw that they have 2 new interns n: Lena Portes and Lin Qi. They seem to be students in Japan. Sakto jud si Sir Vlad. In a way I gave them ideas to hire interns in their webinar serieses lagi. As one of my favourite songs go, I look at life from Both Sides Now. Especially the Sharon Cuneta version... I even sang this song at GS Studio Waikiki on 7/20/19 in our karaoke session with Mike, Paul and his family and Dave and Sherri. My 1st song was I forgot n, followed by Top of the World by Karen Carpenter (where Mike made a candid video of me and I posted it eventually on FB) and Both Sides Now n dayon. I even cried then when Mike sang Flying by the Peter Moon Band. I was touched man gud by the lyrics of the song. Asa k anang 'Flying, soon you will be flying... leaving just a memory' Alisa then said, I can't understand why somebody would cry at karaoke. Hahah, intawon. Anyway, the next day we were going for dinner at Bubba Gump, in the top floor of Ala Moana Center when Dave told me that I sing so much better than those guys daw who were in the bar somewhere nearby so I should just tell them to go away kuno. This morning 7/20/22 when I opened my email, I saw a possibility to submit a speaking proposal for the QS Higher Education Summit for the Americas in Brazil in September pohon. Tinuod, kadali ra jud sa panahon. 3 years n ang akong infamous Hawai'i trip. Of course the pandemic happened and all that. But suffice it to say that when I was in Hawai'i, I had my CHED money then. So pwede ra jud ta lagi nga akong giulian si Mike for the cost of my ticket and visa. But then, iya man lagi kong giinvite so ang dress, laptop ug unsa n to ang akong gusto n lng ta nga ulian. Still, I wasn't allowed to attend my aunt's funeral last February 25th, 2022. I respected their wish for privacy too. It is known to produce board topnotchers in Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy etc. But CDU is also offering non-traditional, nonmedical programs like BS Computer Science, AB English with TEFL and AB International Studies. The writer teaches Economics courses in its AB International Studies program, which has tracks in Asian, American and European Studies. During the pandemic, our students who were scattered all over the world were able to continue studying when the University bought the Brightspace learning program and branded it to CELO +, www.brightspace.com/d2lhome. We have been using this online learning platform since June 2020 and the administration would like to exploit its use as much as possible. The writer have had students who joined the online classes from as far as South Africa, Dubai, Texas and California in the USA aside from the many other parts of Visayas and Mindanao in the Philippines where they were all situated and came from. These students abroad had to adjust to the timings in the Philippines for their online classes. Some of them may be on their way to Cebu, Philippines as we speak because the University plans to have some in person classes when the new school year starts in August. It’s not only the students who had to adjust but the faculty members too. They had to learn to navigate the online learning platform to hold classes, administer tests, receive homeworks etc., at the same time contend with our infamous internet signals in the country. It’s been a very interesting journey, to say the least. So in conclusion, higher education in the Philippines has a very promising future. If only these higher education institutions would be resilient enough to adjust to the change, for sure our universities and the graduates that they produce would have a long way to go, in life and in their careers.

Wahh, I just knew lately that my former student in Senior High School, si Elizabeth Yoo who is Filipino-Korean, is already a student in our IS program. Sa iyang FB kay Dent p mn lagi ang nakabutang. Last sem ra daw siya nishift. Wala ko kahibaw man jud kay busy lagi pud ko kaju last 2nd sem from February to May 2022. She helped me out baya last December 2020 when I told her of Mr. Aloha. She told me then, 'he probably just finds you nice and friendly, Miss oi. Sounds like an interesting guy!' I said yes Elizabeth coz daghan xa'g mga ganap.
