I saw an announcement that PPSA is looking for a consultant lagi daw. I think I can do it. But the question is, will NU Baliwag allow the studetns to be part of this project? Today, among many other things (filing of vacation leave this Christmas plus Angeli's media and politics questions), I talked to Sir John Ouano about our possible participation lagis SEAMEO SPAFA Annual Conference in Bangkok in June 2024 next year pohon. It inspired me to think of proceeding with my paper. I have the draft letter to NCCA Executive Director n. Ang data gathering part of my research n lng lagi to do pohon. Wow, I received email tonight from the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). Something about a webinar for a future credit bond index daw. Wow, I felt truly honored to be invited. Wala may klase last December 8 Friday lagi kay Feast of the Immaculate Conception. On Saturday, 9 Decemmber 2023, I went to Los Baños, Laguna in order to attend the Christmas Party of PDFNI. Ngano kahang didto p man jud ang venue no nga nagplanning man diay silas farm nila Mam Mary Ann Sayoc sa Lipa, Batangas? But anyway, I met new friends n pud that time. Sila Mam Nezza Calderon and Sir Don Quebral from UP-NCPAG and si Mam Rodehlia Macaspac of Our Lady of Fatima University plus people from UPLB like si Mam Lylee de Jesus. Even the current Chancellor of UPLB nga si Sir Dong Camacho is an ISS alumnus, imagine that! I am friends on Facebook already with all of them. Anyway, I won an organizer tray pud during the event and the gift I got from the exchange gift was a very nice set of bamboo placemats. So, see you in the next event daw maoy ilang ingon. Aloha, amen! Then after the event, I went to meet Sheryl p jud sa UPLB Baker Hall. She went home for their reunion. Timing p jud nga maoy pagsulod nahos Baker Hall, gitawag siya. Nagstart ko diris college on 11/16/23 actually. That time final exams tos among senior high school. Then nabusy sa grado ug enrolment. Then I went to Metro Manila last weekend from November 25 to 27. November 28, 2023 nagsugod n ang klases for the new term. Baw oi, I pray makaya nako Lord. Paspas kaju ang term diri lagi. But I already have the materials man. GIANG NGUYEN

She is Joy's classmate sa ISS. Naclose mi during the pandemic nga sige mi ug Zoom lagi. She also helped me out when I ran into some trouble in Saigon last June. Eventually nagkita jud mi last Saturday, 11/25/23 when I was in Metro Manila for a conference. She works for ADB now. Timing kaju coz she is here for a ten-day training so nadajon jud lagi ang among reunion with her classmate Joy Almazan. We also helped her out looking for an orange t-shirt sa SM department store. And she was so kind to allow me to spend the night in her hotel room. She gave Joy and I a pack of coffee grains p jud from Viet Nam. Lingaw pud mi'g catchup on Sunday morning while I was enjoying the congee that she brought with her. She will leave for Hanoi n ugma pohon. This weekend has been about real estate. On Saturday night, I received a flyer from this lady manning the Alta Vida stall in SM Baliwag. She actually turned out to be married to a Korean guy. Yun iyang family name actually. But upon chatting with her, it appears that her husband is not related to the guy that I met in Hawaii many years ago. And y'day 11/12/23, while waiting for SM Baliwag to open, I chatted with this lady named Chello Cruz. She was manning the Alta Vida stall pud y'day. Whole day raw siya dun. But actually I talked to many people yday about rent to own etc. And today, there's somebody who said that they have an available room for rent in Plaridel, Bulacan. Tan-awn p naho if ganahan kos lugar and if ma-afford pud naho. Coz P2500 tong ila Kuya Rading lagi nga walking distance to NU/SM Baliwag. But then wa ko nidajon kay 2nd door and medyo kulob. Nanghihinayang, nanghihinayang ang puso ko.. My former colleague here at NUB Senior High School told me that nanghinayang lagi kuno ko with Mr. X. True. Coz this morning, I saw one of my SHS students being sent to school by his dad on a motorcycle. And then I remembered my dad. Kay ija man ming pasakayon or ihatod lagi when modung pud mis school. Simple ra man kaju ang life sa among parents, Lord. They were both government employees and sa Tubigon, Bohol ra jud sila lagi. CONFERENCES 2024 (AAS and SEAMEO SPAFA)

Since hapit n man lagi ang November 16th which is the last day to register for AAS 2024 in Seattle in March next year pohon, nagstorya nas email lagi if madajon b o dili. One of the panelists, Dr. Sitti Nurdallah b to can't make it daw due to conflict of schedule. Si Dr Amrita Malhi pud said she can't make it kuno if walay travel grant lagi. I followed up with Mam Mary Ann Valentino n. She asked me for a soft copy of the mauscript (abstract lng sa for now) and the decision. I will wait Lord kung maaprub or not. Y'day 11/8/23 I was able to go out at around 4pm. Sus, pag abot nahos dorm, grabeng inita jud lagi. Nkhuna2 ko nga mobalhin. I went walking along DRT Highway n lng. I talked to Kuya Guard too on my way out. I asked him to show me again the room on the other side with only one occupant. The current occupant is not always there daw so pwede ra jud daw ko mobalhin didto. But then I ordered an air cooler n man lagi, 2 p gani to kabuok. Personal ra daw to ingon ni Hershey. Today 11/9/23 around 9am we had a fire drill at NU Baliwag. It took about 30 minutes. I was with my HUMSS 231 class actually where Chloe Labao asked me if I would still be teaching them next term. I had to say maybe not anymore because I will be affiliated with SEAS then. Istorya pud mi ni Mam Emalyn after the drill. Sayang jud btaw nga mabusy n pud ko didtos college. GIANG NGUYEN

She is Joy Almazan's classmate sa WND last 2000 to 2001 MA batch sa ISS. We have become quite close since the pandemic when we had Zoom meetings. She now works for ADB in Vietname. She said she will be in Manila lagi daw from 19 to 29 November. Since bakasyon man n namo, I hope magkita jud mi pohon lagi. Go go go! Incidentally, we will be in Manila daw pud on November 25 to join the Young Economists' Convention (YEC) at DLSU. Y'day 11/6/23 evening I had dinner with Dr Reggie Cruz sa Jollibee SM Baliwag. He wanted to talk to me before he went to Pampanga kay iya kuno kuhaon iyang money sa DepEd. Then this afternoon iya kong giaris SHS Faculty Room kay wa kuno naho sija gitext. Pastilan! Nagkita diay mi ni Sir Alvin Paulino y'day morning after flag raising ceremony. Btw morag moadto kuno mis Manila ig November 25 pohon kay mag-attend ug Junior Philippine Economics Society conference sa San Beda. Dugaya n atong last time nga escort kos mga estudyante oi. Morag sila Gloria Fukagawa p man siguro to. Mao to ang 'may kuryente b doon' when they said they were from Cebu. I have msgd Joy and Stone n about it. Hopefully magkita mi lagi while I am there. DR. JESTONI BABIA

He is my prof in one of my DPE courses at USJR Basak, Cebu City back in November 2015 to May 2016. He would eventually become the Dean of the College of Education there. Busy siya kaju kay sa iyang mga researches lagi. Taga Cagayan de Oro man nis Sir Babia so this time he is the president of the City College of Cagayan de Oro. I remembered him this week kay holiday lagi. To make the long story short, we were on Zoom with him this afternoon, 11/3/2023. They have a research daw for the National Teachers Council. They will consider us as their Luzon partner daw. It's up to our SEAS Dean po as well as our big bosses, our Academic Director (AD) and Executive Director (XD). Thanks kaju Sir Babia, more power to us always! ;)

PROF. DAI JIANZHONG (NANJING, CHINA)

He is one of the participants of our batch 2000 to 2001 at ISS. Sila ni Feng Fen from China. I would meet him again sa NUS in 2005 to 2006. We were both struggling in the PhD Econ program there so we didn't finish. He would eventually finish at GRIPS daw in Tokyo. Over the years, in touch ra mi on Facebook and email. Then lately with all these possible linkages thing, he came to my mind. Si Claudius man gud mentioned China last weekend so I thought of him. Anyway I emailed him if he'd be interested to work with us. He said yes bujag. He just retired daw and would have some time. Wow, salamat kaju. So I told him to meet us on Zoom today 10/28/23 at 10am Philippine time. He said he would try coz he has not used Zoom daw before. As it is, twas only the two of us who showed up. Wala sila Claudius, Toms, Doc Regz and Mam Jenny. Toms said he is on travel kuno pud. Anyway, long weekend man gud diris Pilipinas kay barangay and SK elections lagi ig Monday 10/30/23 pohon. HALLOWEEN/GRAPES

Y'day there was Halloween program lagis NU Baliwag, Bulacan campus. There were kids who came and there was an office decoration contest. Baw busy man mis among mga klases lagi so I dunno kung kinsay nakadaug sa contest. Si Doc Regz gave me a jar of toasted biscuits; I gave them to the security guards. Then akong giclaim pud ang money from Edward Venuti that Nang Anel sent me. I used it to pay up Gigi (half ra man daw ijang pabayran, bless her soul) and Day Nee (si Ate Eva daw padad-an kay magbday kuno siya ig Nov 2 pohon). So I did all of that yesterday. I claimed the money at Palawan Pawnshop in Pinagbarilan (P15 ahong plete per way). Duol ra man tos SM Baliwag oi. Mahal diay magcommute diri. Yesterday 10/9/23, I received email that the panel I proposed was accepted for presentation in the above conference. Wow, salamat po Lord. Kami nila Sir John Ouano and Mam Lorylie Crisostomo lagi ani nga panel. But they are gonna need 4 papers daw for a panel to be viable. So magtry mi'g pangita ug isa. But if wa n jud mi makit-an, isagol n lng kuno mis ubang panels pohon. I have decided to slow down oi kay di pwede nga busy lng ta kanunay. But Jacy said take vitamins lng daw. So okay po. NU BULACAN

I am now at National University (NU) Baliwag, Bulacan campus. It is owned by SM man lagi so naa ras mall complex ang ilang eskwelahan. I arrived here from Clark International Airport last Sunday 10/1/23 sa gabii, mga 8pm. My dean fetched me at the airport. Iyang sister gihimong driver. I would have wanted to meet with my cousin Butch Regis but wa mi magkasinabot sa iyang bana so wa ko nadajon ug tulog didtos ila. Sakto ra pud kay medyo laju ang San Fernando from Clark. Morag Mabalacat and Angeles tong lugara dapit lagi. Anyway, they treated me to dinner at SM Clark then they dropped me off to sleep at Sogo Hotel Dau. I slept till about 8am. Giadto ko ni Butch, ngaon mis MacDonald's and she sent me off to the van terminal in Dau. The trip was about 45 minutes only. I arrived here in NU at around lunchtime. I stayed lng sa HR Office the whole afternoon. Didto n pud ko gipatulog nila Sir Alvin Paulion sa Green Haven Court in Pulilan, Bulacan. The next day I came to NU Baliwag n pud wearing my Holland t-shirt and favorite green pants. He introduced me to the people in the campus. He also told me about the dress code of the school. In the evening, I moved in at the 2nd floor of apartments at the back of Violago Plaza. So didto n ko natulog. I stay in the apartment unit with 2 very lovely NU students; sila Kyla Madio and Hershey Traballo. Kyla is taking up Architecture in our school while Hershey is taking up Marketing Management. I went to my classes n last Wednesday 10/4/23. 7am gaklase n ko diris NU Baliwag but till lunchtime ra ahong klases lagi. Asynch n ko in the afternoon. Di ra man ko kabantay that 5pm n kay busy lagis school. Last Saturday 10/7/23 I finished my presentation for the JustRemit and sent it to them. There is this program that is developed by a Chinese company. Sa fone man ni sila naho unang nakit-an lagi and I made use of their programs during the pandemic. Kay sajon ra man magtype ug Word document and all that with their program sa fone. Last September 27, 2023, I was forced to download it to my computer kay ang file nga gipada ni Mam Genie kay WPS man lagi. Anyway, today 9/30/23, wa ko kaagwanta. I uninstalled it oi kay I want to stick to Microsoft Windows. Mamiss man gud naho tong Word lagi nga automatic mocapital letter ug ang smiley. Hehehe. Mao man jud ni unta ang easiest way aron makaadto kos Hawaii. Because they are originally from Washington, DC man cguro but they eventually created a Hawaii office. I found a program that I could apply for with them. Niapply n ko. From January to May daw next year but they are flexible ra pud. Pwede daw full time, 40 hours per week, or 30 hours ra or even 20 hours. I said sa part-time ra ko. But let's see when the decision comes pohon. Kay we have to be available man daw from 9am to 5 pm US Eastern time. Sus they are 12 hours behind bja namo diris Pilipinas. I have to think about my sleeping time pud oi. I had my interview at the USC Main campus for the post of Recruitment and Admissions Officer at 10am this morning. Si Sir Vlad Manloloyo maoy una naho, at 930am siya. Hehehem thanks to CDU SHS Entrep class jud and Anton Codeniera in particular. But then the Brother saw that I used to be a CHED scholar lagi kuno so unsaon kuno ang ahong return service. I said that is what I'm waiting for because I submitted my withdrawal documents to CHED last 8/9/23 and CDU specifically si Mam Jhe Macarimbang asked me for some documents. I told them that I hope CDU will not ask me anymore for return service coz I was teaching man lagi with them while I was on study leave. And I was not paid 24 units during that time; only my actual teaching units ra ang ahong bayad. I will wait for their decision. They might decide not to take a risk on me. From his above talk about 3 yrs ago that I saw from Youtube, he said disappointment is God's appointment in disguise daw. Kanindut! He related the story of Moses. He spent the first 40 years of his life daw thinking that he was somebody, then the next 40 yrs thinking he was nobody then the next 40 yrs to being extraordinary because he allowed God to work in his life. God looks for nobodies lagi daw in this world in order to shame the wise. He said don't focus daw on your weaknesses but focus on the Lord's strengths. I went to Siquijor on Monday 9/11/23 evening coz I had an interview at Siquijor State College y'day 9/12/23 afternoon. I stayed at North Haven Lodge at the Old Capitol Circle in North Poblacion, walking distance ra from the school. Baw part-time ra man kuno nga load ilang ihatag naho. But my former colleague and good friend, Mam Fe Imbong told me that she will endorse me to the University President lagi daw. Iya ng gimsg sa Messenger and noted man to ijang tubag. He is in Dumaguete man gud daw kay SCUAA lagi kuno nila. Twas my first time to go to Siquijor actually. Ganahan ra ko didto; relaxing ra man pud morag Bohol. This morning I travelled back to Tagbilaran with Mam Fe via Oceanjet. Direct ra. Si Mam Fe will travel on p to Cebu. Na'man untay Apekop lagi nga bangka nga Larena to Tagbilaran but under maintenance lagi daw. The other option was Lite Ferry from Larena to Tagbilaran, every TTHS at 7pm. Nakabayad n man lagi ko ug 1 night sa North Haven maong this morning n lng ko nibyahe pabalik. Besides, I needed to sleep properly oi. Napuyat gud ko on Monday night kay 8pm nigikan ang Cokaliong from Cebu. Tuo ko'g like before nga kadlawn n modunggo lagi. As it is, 130am nidunggo n mis Duma. So we had our first session this morning; mga 3 hours jud to from 8am to 11am. Gibayran n pud ko nija ug downpayment. Magtiwas p kuno mi this afternoon lagi kay tua kuno xay exam sa iyang module. So I pray Lord nga ako nay ijang pilion nga tutor for the rest of the semester. So that additional income as English teacher n lng pud ahong pangitaon lagi, sa hapon or evening. BMOTA (BETTER MINDS ONLINE TUTORIAL ACADEMY) - ESL SCHOOL

They are an online school daw since 2019. Right now they have 9 accounts daw and Koreans, Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese kuno ilang students online. Karon 9/5/23 is my first day of training with Teacher Christianne Marie Orepol. She is actually only 24 yrs old and 3 yrs n daw siya with BMOTA. She's from Dumaguete City lagi daw. Tua p lagi daw another training ig Thursday 9/7/23 pohon. Then Friday n daw ang submission sa files that they were asking from us for Week 1 Orientation. Tua pay laing training kuno next week. Okay ra man ang ilang sweldo if Team Leader n lagi k. Okay n jud to Lord for online work lagi. They have P1k bja nga hiring bonus. But I told her that diha n lagi reply naho yday from Grace Christian College in Balintawak, Quezon City. And basin for interview n nya pud ko lagi adto pohon. I will let them know lng jud ASAP kung unsa gani dagan sa akong mga applications. Coz xempre, lisud pud if maiwan lng sila sa ere di b? GCC, SPIIKER, BETTER MINDS

I was asked to fill out their employee information sheet. Wow, hopefully ang sunod kay interview n lagi pohon. Salamat po Lord sa surprise. I looked at their website today. They have 5 undergraduate programs diay: Accountancy, BA major in Operations Mgmt; IT, Psychology and Secondary Education major in English. So pwede ra jud kaju ko didto diay Lord. Nice kay integrated school pud sila b, with Chinese heritage. Sus, didto kuno graduate sila Gretchen Ho oi ug David Licauco. Well, when I looked at it in the map, it made sense. Morag tua didtong dapita lagi nagpujo ang mga datu sa Metro Manila. So I will wait lng po Lord if didto ko Nimo gustong dad-on sunod. Amen po. Then last night at 19:50 I had an interview over Skype pud with Spiiker, an ESL school in China. Wala may camera during the interview which lasted for a very short while; 4m7s ra jud lagi. Morag Negra jud tong nag-interview naho lagi. Nag-ask ra'g questions about why I applied for the job, why should I be selected etc. Mahibaw-an daw in 2 days time ang outcome. Wow! Then this morning kay orientation n pud lagis Better Minds for online tutoring. Suklan ko sa jud ni lagi while wala p koy laing buhaton. Ay to cap my day diay, I received email from Mohamed Muse that my abstract was accepted for the October 2023 edition of JustRemit. Remittances regulation ang theme this time. DON CELIS ON GETTING OLD

Nice kaju ug outlook si Don Celis on getting old. He said di n lng kuno lagi hilabtan ang edad kay nagpahilom2 ra man kuno n. Hahaha, pastilan! So he gave me a nice perspective about getting old and taking life in stride. And going for what you want too. Coz I do want to pursue something lagi Lord. So please show me po where You want me to go, what You want me to do. Strengthen me po Lord for whatever mission you want me to accomplish. Amen! Hinay2 n lng jud lagi aning edara till moburp k. Coz panuhot ra lagi kunoy kuyog sa edad ug ni Sir Renante p. I had a haircut this afternoon, 9/3/23. My nephews had their haircuts too. Bonding mi ni JM pud kadyot this afternoon. Palit mi cartolina and map of the Philippines sa Alturas; sa BQ n ang map of Asia. Nihirit pud siya ug Don Macchiato oi ug ang iyang Bench pud nga spray. I told them that I will treat them to a Don Macchiato pud pohon once makakwarta or makasweldo n ko lagi pohon. Kami ni Marissa Fronteras Itable pud diay. Mao man toy sabot namo. Wait, I realized that we just have to go on living; do what we love to do despite all the body aches and pains. Ana man jud ang life.
