Last year, this date was quite significant for me. Coz this was the time when I msgd him to say that my cousin looked old and that marriage must have been tough on him. CDU FUNDING

Today 6/28/22 I came to CDU in order to work on my request for funding for the mid-October conference in Holland pohon. WHY DO YOU KEEP ME AS A FRIEND?

I asked this of Nick Simpson before. And his response was, don't go there, Heide. But I said I want to go there. Friends n mn siguro mi ni Nick ug balik. THE FEAST

We were in Cambodia with the SFC community in 2008 when we were asked to say what is our representation for God daw. COCONUT-PEACH THING

My Dutch friends told me this expression to describe the difference between the Europeans and the Americans daw. Morag tinuod mn pud. Kay ang mga Europeans daw, morag coconuts. I stopped in the middle of the webinar coz I went out to buy some food. The webinar tonight will be about religious extremism in Japan I think. I will join for June n lng siguro and stop n in July. Ahh, 2 diay ang campus sa University of Leiden, in Leiden itself and in The Hague. Coz wala n man mokagat si Niña lagis ingon ni John Bradford nga patiwason siyas YCAPS, he made an announcement n lng sa mailing list that they were looking for a paid staff member for August and September for their Getting to Know Japan series and eventually that they were looking for a volunteer member sa ilang Executive Committee lagi daw who will work on their social media team, accounting/bookkeeping etc. If interested si Niña ato, pwede n jud to nijang applyan lagi. Sila nay magstorya gud sa iyang 33.5 hours remaining with YCAPS nga wala matiwas coz ako mn silang giingnan lagi nga stop n sila last 6/6/22 on the day of the virtual internship roundup. I was put in a very difficult spot gud on 5/28/22 morning when our chair Mam Jhe Macarimbang called me up kay di daw sila katiwas ni Steffi lagis ilang 200 hours for the semester. She's our alumna sa IS program. She used to work in a visa processing center sa Ayala Center Cebu. I said I want to attend the conference in person pohon coz 20 yrs n lagi pud ko wa katamak ug Europe since I left in December 2001. So wait n lng ko ug conference programme from them then I'll apply for funding n lagis CDU. NIÑA

On 6/18/22 morning I received email from John Bradford asking if Niña would be finishing her hours b daw sa YCAPS. I was busy with the TCW lesson guide and syllabuses so pagkagabii n naho si Niña giistorya on Messenger. She said she was writing n daw the hand off email. I told John and Michael that I will expect her reply in the morning. Then this morning 6/19/22 I saw from the YCAPS mailing list a vacancy for a Program Director sa ilang Know Japan series for August and September daw but if they could get funding daw pwede p daw maextend ang work till next year. I told Niña right away to finish her hours with them and apply for the Program Director job. Right now si Alex Chou man gud ang moderators ug si Jeff Mazziotta lagi but laju ra mn jud lagi sila ni Mike Okamoto. And then I realized that nakakita mn diay siya ni Niña nga naghost sa iyahang talk with us last May 17. Siya man ang nagsugod ato then ako ang ni-introduce ni guest speaker and I also moderated the open forum. Then I turned it over to Mam Jhe for the closing remarks then si Niña n dayon ang nagcue for the picture taking. May I request Mr Bradford to quit sharing his screen for our photo op. Heheh. And he said di b that it was fun. Pastilan. Niña made her decision of not finishing it with them anymore. So I emailed them to say thank you from all of us at CDU. Closed n to nga chapter oi. Ilaha n to oi. They need to resolve whatever issues they have between the two of them. I am not the internship coordinator n gud. I gave their final grades n gud lagi last 6/6/22, shortly before we had the virtual internship roundup. Si Niña said John Bradford should have contacted her directly kuno if they are really interested with her to work at YCAPS. Katawa kos word ni Mam Jhe kay maghinilas daw. In the webinar earlier by the Mongolia Connect program of YCAPS, I saw Nick Millward again. Ang US Ambassador to Mongolia man to ang ilang speaker, Michael Kalechski or something. Actually I had forgotten how he looked like; kaisa ra mn gud ko kita niya lagi last 12/16/21 at the YCAPS info session at 9am, just hours before Odette slammed our part of the Philippines lagi at around 6 pm. He said then that we cannot bring Heideliza to Japan and that ang ila lagi kunong kwarta is about $30K daw from the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP). Mao mn ning kwartaha ang ilang gigamit sa ilang Getting to Know Japan (GTKJ) series lagi. Anyway, I msgd Niña late at night to consider finishing off her 33.5 hours n lng lagi nga kuwang with YCAPS. Di n daw siya ganahan. I said nakasabot ko niya. Di n pud lagi matawaran ang ilang natampo sa YCAPS as an org: If I am not mistaken, kami taga CDU p lagi ang 1st nag intern with them. Y'day my colleagues at CDU SocSci and I went to the Bojo River Cruise in Aloguinsan, Cebu. Pikas side n nis isla sa Cebu bale, facing the Tañon Strait and Negros Island. Sila Sir John Ouano, Alan Tabanao, Max Capala, Raymund Silot and Mam Jehannie our ever dynamic SocSci chair ra gud ang didto. Twas my 1st time to be there. Great tour, great ambience, great company with colleagues. Today kay back to work n pud kay sugod n summer classes lagis Lunes June 20 phn and submission n pud sa mga syllabus and lesson guides ig June 21 phn. Ang syllabus ug lesson guide sa TCW for all programs tiwasonon p jud lagi nako but tua n mn koy nasugdan jud lagi. Ang akong paper pud diay sa Academia Letters ako pud tong atimanon. Today 6/17/22 I read the reply of somebody from The Nature Conservancy. They directed me to their projects daw here in Asia-Pacific. Nikaon gud ko ato lagi ug chao fan with lumpiang shanghai ug halo2 p jud. I just miss the interaction with old colleagues lagi. Nagsorry jud ko ni Niña last night after the virtual roundup of everyone involved sa internship. Saun mn lagi nga di mn kuno siya moput in ug hours nya pila ray ilabay sa semester lagi. Mao tong ingon ni Bradford nga lesson pud nila nga gitagaan n kuno sila'g opportunity to work nya wa kuno nila dawata or taronga lagi. She said she would benefit lagi kuno from supervision and structure para she would settle into a routine. I told her jud to raise whatever concerns she has ASAP jud lagi aron di mabiyaan. Overall YCAPS was very pleased with the internship and kami pud sa CDU Social Sciences Department lagi. Nakaestablish gud mi lagi ug linkage out of that internship. Mechanisms would just have to be put in place jud lagi to ensure that all interns complete their target of 200 hours for the entire semester. On my part kay aloof mn lagi pud ko. He said he will make it look like weakness daw sa among program kay wala daw mi international linkages kay own initiative lagi daw to nako tanan. Heheh. I realized that he was actually very proud of what I have done. Didto ko nidecide to email John Bradford and to propose a culminating activity with everyone involved in the virtual internship. I had to learn to let go of the crazy Filipina and the impoverished academic phrases that the late Neville Tickner used to describe me. I am definitely not those things. RECONSIDER

I actually reviewed the terms of the internship for evaluation and thought a lot today. I informed Mam Jhe n lng pud lagi so that di siya matinga lagi. I talked to Mam Raquel, Mam Liezl, and Mam Ophel on the GC and the thought of coming up with a culminating activity came to me. SUMMER FUN

This afternoon 6/2/22 at 1pm we had a department meeting. Tua n mi buhaton lagi for the incoming semester oi sa CAS. It just reflects our dean's experience as PAASCU accreditor.
