I met him in Singapore, at Techno Edge, the Engineering canteen of NUS on 23 September 2005. Twas the day after I came back from a sneak trip to Cebu actually. He was introduced to me by his good friend from ADMU Christian Bustamante who was our fellow scholar there. I actually gave each of them a pack of dried mangoes. It will be his 40th bday on June 4 pohon and he posted on Facebook his latest appointment as Associate Dean daw sa ADMU for Research and Creative Work. LAST WEEK OF CLASSES

Y'day 5/19/22 is the wedding day of our good friend in PP Elenita Paculanang from Zamboanga to her Irish boyfriend John Seery. I last saw her in PP in March 2019. She was getting ready to apply for a visa then to visit her boyfriend in Ireland. I think she went there in late 2019 or early 2020. When she came back she worked in Saigon n. Today from 9am to about 1015am via Zoom, we had the talk by John Bradford about the US Navy and geopolitical issues in the Indo-Pacific Area. He said it was fun daw. There were 23 participants in that webinar including our speaker. But mao n toy among pangpista ni Señor San Isidro Labrador lagi, among patron sa Tubigon. The chorus of the gozos goes like this di b? Tabangi kutob nianang trono, sa himaya nga gihatag sa Dios kanimo. Because the story is that si St. Isidore was a farmer and before he goes to work, mohapit jud n sijag simbahan. I missed watching the Finals Game 1 between ADMU and UP last Sunday 5/8/22 so catch up n lng kos replay after coming back here in Cebu after voting in Bohol. UP won in Game 1 diay and ADMU won in Game 2 so there will be a rubber match tomorrow, 5/13/22 Friday nga Game 3. LETTING GO

Today 5/6/22 on the first Friday of this month, ang message ni Uncle Linus sa email is to let go daw. Coz if we let go daw, amazing things can happen. And it did hit me hard. Coz I do tend to hold on to things. Wala gud ko molet go sa akong PhD frustrations maong I am doing this PhD again. And wala pud ko molet go lagis akong Cambodia experience. Kay for the longest time lagi, si Nick gud to ang akong love. Told him I can't win scholarships if I stay abroad. And if tua n sijay lain ron, then xempre I'd have to let go of him. So many times he told me gud that we're only friends. Starting in 2011 actually following the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. So kinsa man diay akong minyuan ani Lord if I let go of Nick? And asa n mn ang taga Hawaii nga nawa n mn pud lagi? I did tell him that Cambodia is my 2nd home. Tinuod mn jud pud Lord. I would always love Cambodia, with or without Nick there. I would just have to learn to let go of my memories with him there, in Phnom Penh and most importantly in Siem Reap. Hahahy. CONFERENCE

Today 5/5/22 I received email from Vanessa Ntinu, Secretariat for LDE Centre GMD that there will be an in-person conference in The Hague that they are organizing. I actually said I may not come because we also have a talk here on May 17th at 9 to 10 a.m. But she said they hope to welcome me daw in future events, if possible. So I asked n lng kung kinsay moshoulder sa akong ticket and visa if I attend this conference? Kay May 16th pohon at 9:30 a.m. to 17:00 man daw ni nga event in Holland. I saw from his FB that he changed his cover picture to a picture of his parents nga medyo naedaran n. Then a certain Khmer guy said 'good love to you and Mey'. And when he was getting inside Lucky Supermarket before sa back entrance, I saw 2 Khmer girls approach him too. FINAL FOUR UAAP SEASON 84

Yday 5/4/22 was the start of UAAP Season 84 Final Four. UP and DLSU will have a do or die game p ig ugma phn 5/5/22 coz DLSU won man against UP and twice to beat ang UP Fighting Maroons. So one game lang ugma pohon and the first game of the Finals will be on Sunday at 6pm pud siguro. ADMU beat FEU man so they are going to the Final 4 right away. Go go go, nagkaduol nas championship lagi. Aloha everybody! May the best team wins lang jud ;)

GRATITUDE

I once heard a homily that says 'a grateful heart is a thankful heart', just like a thinking person is a thanking person. Tinuod. UAAP SEASON 84

I watched almost the entire 1st quarter last night of the UP vs ADMU game. So UP ra jud diay lagi nakapildi nila this time. Sakto ra pud oi. I was able to send it to my friends at USJR and USC plus STC, Ateneo de Cebu (Sir Roderick Abellanosa), PSCI (Madam Rachel Lus Vivas-Rica), UP Cebu (Kresna Navarro) and UV (Mam Rosie Mendoza). Next week pohon I plan to send a reminder and put the name of the speaker in my invite.
