TO WAIT FOR

Now I have four things to wait for: ang sessions sa Bangkok conference in June pohon, ang resulta sa NCCA international travel grant application, ang East West Center two-day writing workshop in May ug kadtong AAS council elections. Go go go Doki, aloha! :)

SPAFACON SIGN

Today 2/29/24 when I opened my Messenger, I saw Mam Marinelle's msg about the SPAFA Con in Bangkok in June pohon. I took it as a sign that madajon jud siguro lagi ko pohon. Pero naukay jud lagi tanan today kay nangdeduct ang HR sa among absences or late kuno. When I checked the record, isa ra juy nasakto. Nga wala koy out pag February 2 afternoon so gideductan ko ug 2 hours from 3 to 5pm. Ang February 5 5 to 7pm ug February 12 5 to 7 pm nga iyang ingon nga wa kuno koy time in and out. Today 4/30/24 I received reply from Heriot Watt University. They gave me contacts in order to book an appointment daw with their admissions team. Wow, naay chance. Who knows? Last 2/28/24 I saw a post from our ISS alumni coordinator Sandra Nijhof for PhD scholarships at their school. And I applied right away. So they would eventually tell me if I'll proceed to the next step, i.e. pangajuan n ko nila ug recommendation letters from my previous professors. Wow, I pray for the best Lord. Coz ang response sa University of Hawaii at Manoa is they have applied the residency rule daw. So I am not eligible since I am not there physically. Anyway, ang kanindut sa Heriot-Watt is they have campuses in UK but also in Dubai and Malaysia. So if madajon gani ko pohon, adto ra kos Malaysia magstudy so that duol ra kajus Pinas lagi. Coz I am not anymore inclined to go so far away. So let us pray for the best. Go go go Doki! :)

GILLIAN

Y'day 2/26/24 I had a hearty reunion with Gillian Macintyre, my travel buddy from 23 yrs ago in Europe. She joined a cruise from Japan and they passed by Taiwan before docking in Manila. Kadyot ra gud pud sila kay tua n pud silas Boracay ron. Then they would go to Puerto Princesa pud daw then back to Hong Kong n siya where she will take the flight back to London then Port of Spain, Trinidad n kuno pohon. Wow, God is so good for allowing us the chance to meet up again. She said I forgot daw that I am Miss Adventurous in Europe 20 years ago. Tinuod, since NUS I have become a coward. Today she told me to look for a teaching job daw in Hawaii. And indeed I have done so. Niapply n ko as lecturer sa UH Manoa. They are looking for Lecturers man daw sa ilang Social Sciences Department. Swerte n kaju ko lagi kung mobawos to sila naho and they would consider me for interview. Coz niapply bja ko to study my PhD with them back in Sept 2017 lagi unta but wa ko nidajon. Anyway, kung asa lng ko madawat po Lord. Mosunod ra ko. Go go go Doki and aloha! :)

INTER NATIONS

I received email from somebody from Inter Nations today. They are looking for Global Consuls lagi daw. He just asked me what activities I can organize. I hope this will be it Lord. Coz I backed out sa Cebu di b? Coz ayoko ng may kashare Lord sa task. And obvious naman that si Mam Ludy really wants the job so iyaha n lng to. Cge po and go go go! ;)

REALISTIC

Mam Ophel once told me to be realistic aron di lagi daw ko masakitan. Yes, coz the reality is that the Philippines is a totally different environment from Hawaii/USA. KABUSYHAN THESE DAYS

I'm really now adjusting to my new place with people who are working in SM. Maligo n lng lagi ko ug sayo then mogawas mga 7am kay 9am ug 10pm p man sila mogawas lagis work. Magsabtanay n lng mi cguro kay di lagi mga nindut ang ahong mga nakit-an nga kabalhinan. Hago n pud moadtos laju kay finals n man mi lagi pohon March 7 to 13.. I will buy something for Gillian pud diay kay moari n sija ig Lunes pohon, 2/26/24. Go go go Doki! I'm very happy coz last lesson n mi ugma pohon sa Ethics ug TCW for ITE 233. Ang ubang klase n lng sa TCW ang need tiwason (TOU 234 and PSY 232). Nauwahi sila kay nagtour sa Ilocos and nagslowdown lng jud sa Psyc kay kapoy n lagi tawn kaju sila during my class nga last class nila. So mairaraos din namo ni tanan pohon. Today I also got email for a possible writing workshop by East West Center in Washington, DC this May. 2 days daw and it will be about the likely impact of the upcoming US presidential elections on the Indo-Pacific. Syempre nag apply n ko. Most likely the event will be online coz they asked for our timezones man in the application. Bahala n, ang importante makajoin kos ilang event lagi. So that in future I can go to Washington DC or anywhere in the US mainland di b? Tua p man jud koy visa lagi nga valid till August 2028 pohon. They don't sponsor visas man daw. It's okay, I got mine through my generous cousin, Grumpy Bear. Hehehe. Bless him and all of them in Hawaii. Anyway, matic jud n nga mohapit kos Hawaii lagi pohon if ever makaadto ko. Active man kos AAS so kana jud lagi ang possible avenue nga makaadto kos US mainland. All at the right time. Amen! Tua diay pud vacancy for a Research Association sa Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Pinay man to nga si Dr Charmaine Ramos ang nangita ug Research Associate lagi on Philippine Structural Transformation lagi kuno. I am actually not convinced that we are on it; it just feels so due to the call centers cguro. But I would see what I can do lagi if ever man madawat ko. NCCA INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL GRANT APPLICATION

Wow, God is really good. Amen. Tungod cguro kay nakita ko niya nga nagtan-aw atong conference announcement sa page ni Sir Randy Nobleza, I got the support of Doc Regz for the possible NCCA travel grant sa Bangkok conference in June pohon. I asked for Dr Dayao's support pud. He gave it right away. And tua n ang among application documents nila lagi. I submitted it to them last Saturday 2/17/24 via email. Gihabol n lng naho ang recomm letter from Dr Noel Hidalgo Tan. He gave it on 2/21/24. They acknowledged receipt of the documents already. Daghang salamat po Lord. All praise and glory be to You. Amen! Wait n lng mis ilang response. Hopefully kaming tanan sa panel lagi ang matagaan. Kay di jud lalim Lord ang gasto. Ang registration lng gud daan is $350 USD n each. I registered mga last week pud and I think 10,000 baht ahong mabayran and I chose to pay at the conference itself. Then ang airfare p ug kapuy-an namo didto. So a grant would be very much appreciated jud. Anyway, all in their hands n lng lagi. Jia you to us all always. Go go go! :)

AAS ELECTIONS AND NOMINATIONS

They are looking daw for nominations because mag election daw sila this year during the Annual Conference. I nominated myself n lng for Southeast Asia Council. BATAUSA CLAN REUNION

Since holidays man lagi ang Feb 9 and 10 for Chinese New Year. Nakalugar ko ug istorya nila Jingboy ug Ronnie about sa Batausa Clan reunion lagi pohon. Morag gahol nas oras if this summer so basin December n lng lagi daw pohon. Sila Gemma, Naty ug Ate Ica ahong giapil pud sa coordinators. Si Ann2 Batausa Ouano pud lagi pohon kay makalugar jud to sija. Si Alma Batausa Escalera kay di kay bag-o p tawn sija lagi namatayan. Morag namatay iyang bana sa barko. Ate Ica said morag tulala daw siya lagi nga nagkita silas merkado. Syempre gud oi, namatay gud ilang padre de pamilya, ilang breadwinner. But we pray for the best. BDO PERSONAL LOAN

Y'day afternoon just before going home. I dropped by the BDO office n jud lagi to ask about personal loan. They asked if I have an account with them. Tawagan n lng daw kos ilang staff. I pray for the best. Ay wait. My new housemate diay complained kay saba kuno ko kaju lagi. Nya maaga p daw. Saun, 10am p man lagi ilang sulod so saju p n kaju para nila ang 6 or 7am. NO RAFI SUPPORT

I emailed RAFI for possible support sa Bangkok conference lagi pohon in June. Nibawos n sila today. Wala daw kay cancer treatments kunoy ilang priority lagi ron. So now I have to decide kung modayon b o dili. Si Sir John Ouano would want me to go of course. Kay magpresent man siya lagis iyang MA thesis. I do hope for the best. Amen! Aloha! :) I thought trabahuon to naho lagi ang Manoa International Exchange. I emailed them n man for the possibility. I am also looking for possible subsidy sa Bangkok kay mahal lagi kaju. Morag nasajop p jud kos booking lagi kay June 10 to 12 man diay ang sessions nya sa June 12 gabii p man tong ahong ticket. Faet!. Then I am also arranging for Gillian's coming ig February 26 pohon. Sa Binondo man toy ingon ni Nang Anel. Tua n koy Quiapo lagi nga nabook but Joy said it is not a safe place daw. I booked at Sulit Dormitel in Santa Mesa n lng. Barato ra man pud sila lagi. PLAN

My plan now is buhaton ra tong Bangkok and possibly Malaysia conference in July lagi with Prof. Timothy Daniels of Hofstra University in New York. Then after that, magtipid n ko for my possible vacation to Hawaii pohon. Go go go Doki, aloha! Btw I checked the profile of Dr Noel Hidalgo Tan. Pinoy man jud n siya lagi b. Either Singaporean iyang papa nya Pinay iyang mama or nahimo n lng jud siyang Singaporean national lagi ron. I do hope to see him pohon sa SEAMEO SPAFA conference from June 10 to 14, 2024. June 12 to 15 raba tong ahong ticket; I hope diha ra pud nga time ang among presentations lagi. Go go go Doki and aloha! :) In addition, I emailed the SVD mission n pud in the USA. I told them that I would like to help in opening an SVD school in Hawaii. At least it would give me a reason to go jud. Go Doki, pray for your plans. Amen!
