Since wala man jud lagi silay nadaugan sa ilang group games, Gilas will now join the rest of the teams daw in the classification round for the Paris Olympics in 2024. So they will go up against South Sudan daw tonight 8/31/23 and Puerto Rico on 9/2/23. All the best nila always! NOT ACCEPTED TO TFP

I did join the virtual Assessment Center (vAC) of Teach for the Philippines last Tuesday 8/29/23 morning from 8am to 12 noon. First group work then ang 2nd part kay individual teaching demo lagi of 10 minutes each candidate. Tua silay curveball oi nga concept. Hehehe. The next day I was informed that I wasn't accepted to proceed to the final interview. Sakto ra pud kay basin they were looking for someone younger. You can be assigned anywhere in the Philippines gud and the program is for 2 years so that you can make a difference lagi daw in the school that you'll join. It is not for me n jud cguro. After ko makarest, I will go back to the ChatGPT test pud. Basin p diay madawat ko ato lagi. But it seems boring man lagi oi. Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng opportunities Lord. MAHILUNA OR SETTLED

MY LEARNING CENTER DREAM

They said that it's never too late to plan a new plan and dream a new dream. By joining this Amora Tutorial Services lagi, I realized that it has always been my dream to open a learning center in our hometown in Tubigon, Bohol. I can always start small with it. I want it to have the best and state-of-the-art learning materials lagi. We have always lived near elementary schools man lagi since we moved to Tinangnan, Tubigon, Bohol in 1988. Our house is just beside Tinangnan Elementary School man. Our boarding house in Tipolo, Mandaue pud is close to an elementary school. I was given a tutee n last Thursday 8/24/23 by our very dynamic HR head, Mr. Mark Jay Cabalo. Sa Aberdeen Place in Pilit, Cabancalan ang akong tutee located. Sus, kusog man lagi kaju ang uwan that day maong wala mi nadayon sa first session unta. Nisayo man ko didto and ang akong estudyante ang wala didto. So nahilot ra tawn pud ni Sir Mark lagi and I basically had the first session last night. Sus, grade 2 nga medyo KSP diay ang bata maong magkiat2 lagi. But I think I built a rapport with him. He sat on my lap man lagi during the session and nagpauban pud siya when he went to the toilet. Hopefully mopadayon ra ko Lord lagi with him. Such a sweet kid bujag. Once mopadayon ko ato kay makakuha n man ko ug P500 nga transportation allowance lagi. Mktabang n nas plete2 pohon, kay at the end of the 20 sessions p man daw lagi ihatag ang bayad. Chat mi today ni Rhena. She was my tutor/assistant during the lockdown lagi last 2020 when I was in Tubigon, Bohol. Since then I've considered her to be part of our family jud. Actually twas my first cousin Catherine Edna Abarquez (now Juanich) who first got a multiple-entry tourist visa to the USA mga early 2000s. Basta kay bag-ong panganak pas Kyle ato lagi. Wa jud mouyon si Mama atong ijang plano lagi to go to the USA. As it is, I think she went but then at the airport in New York b to she decided she can't leave her infant in the Philippines behind. Napulbos lagi daw ang pila k libo. Hehehe. Saun mga Pilipino kay emotional man lagi and grabe ang family ties. Anyway, fast forward to the present. I applied for a job at the Hawaii Department of Education and I was told I didn't have the legal authorization lagi daw to work in the USA. I had to check if I can convert my valid tourist visa to work visa. Pwede man daw basta makakita ug employer lagi. So I emailed them and told them this. Wait n lng kos ilang reply lagi. Basta, I will see all of these as a mission Lord. Naay rason kung Imo kong paadtoon didto. Not just what I want but most importantly, what You want for me to do. Amen po!

Today my good friend from BISU Bilar told me of a possible opening there. I applied right away. I got a reply n pud from PREC Educ Saigon and I am waiting lng for their response. I have response n pud from the Skype ESL team thing and if that doesn't work out, I still have the Amora Tutoring or the one I talked to nga taga Talamban. Wa jud ko nimo pasagdi lagi Lord. As of this writing, there were 99 casualties already. And recovery efforts are underway but they have to clear out all those who died and were burned out first jud daw before they will open the road to the public. God bless all of them and God bless us all! :)

He is actually of Filipino blood coz his grandmother on his mother's side is from Bacolor, Pampanga man lagi daw. So this year, in the 2023 FIBA World Cup he is representing the Philippines. Sayang lang coz maybe Kai Sotto won't suit up due to his back injury. FOCUS ON THE LORD

The msg of Fr. Jerry Orbos yesterday was to keep looking at the Lord so that we will not sink lagi in our journey. Take courage, it is I. Amen! Pray with the heart. Some of the best prayers are without words. Tears lagi kuno are the best prayers. Amen. We may be loaded daw with problems and all that but we are lorded lagi daw. And we must have a prayer mountain daw. To be in the presence of God. Just pause and acknowledge them, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And Mama Mary too. Because August 15 is Assumption Day. Walk lagi regularly coz walking is also a form of prayer. Amen! It is hard for God to operate in our life if we are not little. Let go and let God! You cannot be open to God lagi daw if we are holding on to many things in our hands and in our hearts. Amen! Psalm 51: A pure heart create in me O God.

But then, mao man jud pagsugod sa lockdown lagi when I was starting to write my dissertation. And nabayran n pud naho lagi ang NUS around Chinese New Year 2020 which was the start of the virus spread. Anyway, all's well that ends well. LAHAINA, MAUI, HI, USA

It is actually a very historical town diay. According to Pamela Young, lahaina means cruel sun daw. But the residents have come to live there daw for centuries. It's even said that writers and leaders have come to Lahaina daw like Sun Yat Sen, Charles London and Richard Melville daw who is said to have written the book Moby Dick while in Lahaina. They had a very famous centuries-old banyan tree that has now been charred but salvageable daw. It had actually become a fine art gallery. But their famous Pioneer Inn and Baldwin House Museum are gone n jud daw. The people of Lahaina and the rest of Maui will recover ra from the wildfires yesterday. MAUI BRUSHFIRES, 8/8/23

Sus, due to Hurricane Dora which brought strong winds, there is brushfire in Maui (Lahaina, Kihei and Kula) which is on the Leeward (western) part of Maui. About 2100 people daw were evacuated overnight and 53 were confirmed dead. About 4000 tourists pud kuno were being taken to Oahu. I think the fire is still active as of this writing. I feel sad for them. Hope they all stay safe. Lahaina will never be the same again.. It is actually the hometown of the famous Hawaiian singer Kealii Reichel. My good online friend Relle Lum pud is from Pukalani in Maui. I emailed her and she said they are all safe daw. All the best to us always. Keep the faith lang jud. Amen!

CHED WITHDRAWAL

Yesterday I went to CHED Regional Office 7 in order to submit my letter of withdrawal from the Scholarship for Graduate Studies - Local (SGS-L) that I started on in November 2017 in line with the K to 12 Transition lagi. I was enrolled in the PhD Social Sciences program at Silliman University in Dumaguete City. I would go there gud almost every weekend. Relaxation and diversion man pud to naho. But the pandemic happened man lagi which changed everything. My graduation got delayed and actually never happened. I stopped studying last year p actually. Lately ra man lagi nangita ang CHED maong I went there yesterday to formally close things off. Today they sent me documents for me to accomplish. Ipanotaryo ko ra to pohon and send to them so that move on n ko lagi. I like this phase in my life Lord coz makahimo n pud lagi ko ug new plans. Jia you Doki, go go go! ;)

AJ EDU

There is somebody who is very promising in the world of basketball. His name is Ariel John (AJ) Edu. He was born in Cyprus daw oi from a Nigerian father and a Filipino mother (from Surigao daw, Litang apelyido). 6'10 daw iyang height and he has Filipino citizenship. But even teams like Nigeria, Cyprus and Great Britain want him to play daw on their teams. I think sorry n lng sila for now because he is playing for our flag. But commercially, he plays in Japan daw. He went to the University of Toledo in Ohio man diay for college. Go go go Team Pilipinas for the win. Make us proud! :)

BASKETBALL WORLD CUP 2023 IN MANILA

On 25 August to 10 September, the FIBA Basketball World Cup will be held in Japan, Indonesia and Philippines (Manila). I saw ticket sales already for the venues Smart Araneta Colisuem and the Mall of Asia Arena. The Philippine Team will be boosted by Jordan Clarkson. In fact, he arrived in Manila already yesterday. Philippines is on the same group as Angola, Dominican Republic and Italy on Group A. But team USA will also be in Manila pohon. OMG! But the NBA Superstars are not there. Though the head coach of Team USA will be the from Miami Heat daw so in a way, it will be like initiation or tryout for the players. Go go go!

13th FestPAC

This will take place from June 6 to 16, 2024 daw in Honolulu, Hawaii pohon. The famous classical pianist Aaron Sala is the Chairman of the Organizing Committee. Kanice moadto during that time pohon. Cge lang, Ginoo n mag-igo lagi. Jia you Doki, go go go!

HONOLULU MUSEUM OF ART (HOMA)

Island Focus Episodes 96 and 97, a program of Olelo Community Media, is about the Honolulu Museum of Art (HOMA). They have an amazing Mediterranean collection; I would like to see it one day. Aside from their amazing art collection daw that people can see, they can watch movies daw on their ground or have a picnic. Bucket list jud ni nako as well as the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum and the UH Manoa campus as well as Diamond Head Hike pohon. Coz I missed it the last time I was there in July 2019. Nanirado n man lagi pag-abot namo. Didto man mis Pearl Harbor lagi ato then nihapit p mi ug Target kay dihay gipapalit si Paul ni Alisa. Then we took a picture in Waikiki. So pag-abot namo didto, nanirado n. Cge lang, maabot ra k didto Doki. Unaha sa na'g resolve ang imong CHED. Go go go!

PRIVATE TUTOR

I'm looking for posts as private tutor again coz gibalibaran n ko atong Ateneo. Sakto ra pud oi kay radicals lagi daw iyang ipademo naho. Kakapoy pud anang Radicals Lord. So I will wait Lord kung madawat b ko as private tutor soon. Manglaba lng ko this afternoon kay di n man ko mogawas. Jia you Doki and go go go! I finished my paper today about urban home gardens and emailed them to the UGAT organizers. I will wait for their reply. I had more job applications n pud and we'll see kung asa ko madawat lagi. Basta kay nagdungan n pud mi y'day sa dihay nagsara ug awto and ako nagbutang sa akong shorts sa bangko. So naa jud money for me lagi nga coming Lord. I just have to keep the faith. Amen!

URBAN HOME GARDENS IN CEBU CITY

This is the topic of the abstract that I have submitted for the UGAT 45th conference in Zamboanga in November pohon. I hope madawat to. DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY

I heard it from Fr. Jerry Orbos on his 17 July 2022 homily: If you are depressed, you are living in the past daw. And if you are anxious, you are living in the future. So we must live for the present or today lagi daw. Salamat po Lord. I really need it today. Coz he said our work doesn't define us daw. Coz what about our relationships lagi daw? I think I would have to msg someone. But ugma pohon n siguro kay gabii n man gud today. But what do I always say is my motto di b? Do not wait for tomorrow what you can do today. So again, salamat po Lord for the lesson or reminder for today and please help me always. Amen!

WOMAN IN ACTION - GRETCHEN HO

The media personality Gretchen Ho has this name for the vlog on Youtube. At one point, nainspire ganis Edward niya nga magbus trip lagi kunos Pilipinas by watching her vlogs. Hehehe. Y'day and today I watched her vlogs of Spain: Madrid ang part 1 and Barcelona ang part 2. Mora2 n siya ug si Kara David if I may say in how she makes her features lagi. I watched a bit diay before the vlog she made sa Atok, Benguet. And lately, she met an accident while biking in Switzerland. Anyway, all the best to her and go go go!

AUGUST SESSIONS

Sus, puno2 n ang among sessions with Cecilia Lin this month of August oi. Kay gusto lagi siya nga mahuman n mi ug review sa 47 chapters by the end of the month so that sa writing n pud mi kuno pohon ig patong sa September. Walay problema, aja laban lang! And I have to go to her house kay di daw mosugot iyang papa nga sa Ayala Center Cebu mi. Okay po, all the best to us always. Aloha! ;)

HANKY, CHOPSTICKS

Fr. Jerry Orbos uses very simple things jud in order to deliver God's message to us. Last time it was the handkerchief or panyo. It is very simple daw and most of the time hidden. We should be like that daw. Not like the kurbata or necktie that paporma lng kuno b or papogi. And today, his message is chopsticks n pud. You cannot hold it too tight kuno or too loose. You have to hold it just right. And when you use it, it should be one is constant while the other is moving. Ana ra daw pud with relationships. So if one is angry, dili pwede that both of you are angry. One has to be the moderator or normalizer. God bless Fr. Jerry with his very simple methods of delivering his message across. BTS lang lagi - believe, trust, surrender everything and everyone to God. 3P's - prayer, patience and perseverance. Go go go Doki! ;)

Somebody from Kazakhstan msgd me on LinkedIn y'day. He said he is working at World Bank Laos as a transport economist and he wants to start his doctoral study daw under my supervision. Of course, di ko mobalibad. But I told him that I am not done with my doctoral studies too. And if it's okay with him then why not? We met on Google Meet this afternoon. Pretext ra diay to niya Lord nga magstudy siya. Actually, basin nangita siya ug lovelife or he could even be recruiting me to work for them. He gave me books to read p. Every day I should study kuno. Intawn. He said $5K kuno oi ang minimum sweldos ing ani nga mga organizations and with free accommodation p. Omg, how blasphemous! When kami tawn mga local maglisud man gani ug sweldo ug P50k di b? So ikaw n po ang bahala Lord. Basta kay katol jud akong kamot lagi and nidungan mis speaker ganihas 10 and nitungod pud ang Tita Sonia sa akong writing. So I will keep the faith Lord.
