Anyway, in the webinar last 2/24/22 on the 3/11/11 disaster in Japan, he read my question of who's paying for all the cost of whatever it is they are doing at Fukushima nuclear power plant. Last Feb 10 nga webinar ni John Bradford on Japan as a Maritime Power, he read my question pud of what's your view of Chinese ships entering the South China Sea or West Philippine Sea? Sajo kaju mi nagchat ni Kyle Ko on our YCAPS Internship GC. He said the meeting y'day will count towards their total 200 hours to do daw for this semester. Wow! Last week he said their attendance in the webinars will be counted pud. I think they deserve a little token from here in Cebu. Especially Mike Okamoto who is our coordinator from Tokyo. I sent him a little token from here in Cebu - 2 packs of otap ra gud ug mango banana passion fruit candies last 3/4/22 evening at Parkmall. I made it just in the nick of time jud. INTERNS' SUPERVISORS

In the video calL via Google Meet earlier today at 12 noon, I sadly got disconnected as well as Kyle Ko too. But Mike Okamoto sent me an email today 2/25/22 around lunchtime telling me that Steffi will be working under him in the Know Japan series. Kyle's supervisors will be Jeff Mazziotta in Japan and Jenna Heavenrich from Guam. Niña's supervisor will be John Bradford in Executive Support. Heheh. Overall, this is a great start n jud lagi bujag. Good night to us all and more power always! Btw si Matthew Daniels is the Vice President and Acting President of YCAPS on John Bradford's absence cguro kay he's in Singapore mn lagi. From his military stint, he's now into education daw. I think he's working with kids in their vicinity. Then si Jeff Mazziotta is a wildlife conservationist. So they have something in common ni Estefania diay hahah. He was in the 3/11 webinar last night. Then si Kyle Ko checked out Michael Okamoto on FB. Kabs jud diay sila, taga Philadelphia. John Bradford said in the meeting earlier that he is from Texas. I forwarded Steffi's sked to Mike Okamoto this afternoon. She apologized for replying late kay they had to change their internet kuno to fibre. He told me to expect an email from the YCAPS executive director later today for the official onboarding of the interns as well as for their duty schedules. She's my classmate at Silliman University from Bacolod City. We actually first met at the toilet in Katipunan Hall then later we found out that we were classmates. Magbus p tawn nas Mam Lyn before from Bacolod to Dumaguete lagi for her classes at SU. Nilungtad pud xa ug 3 semesters oi. I met up with her for lunch today 2/20/22 at SM Seaside because she is in town. Dugay n jud mi kaju lagi wa magkita. Gikuha p gani ko niya nga speaker in her TCW class last November 16, 2021 lagi. She teaches at Don Carlos Hilado Memorial State College diay just outside of Bacolod. Grabe pud ang life journey ni Mam Lyn. Ninang mn kos iyang anak lagi nga si baby Adie bisan wala ko didto. WEEKENDS ARE FOR..

Ever since he left CDU SocSci IS and went to work for the SHS department, sa Messenger chat n lng mi magstorya ni Sir Vlad. Siya jud lagi tong niingon nga giilogan lagi daw kos Hawaii oi last July 2019 nga didto ko for my cousin's wedding. Ako ra lagi n xang ichat kung naay unsa. This time na'man mi issues lagi at work. He supports me ra. Good friend jud n nako siya buyag, since I came to CDU in November 2010. He was at our Christmas lunch gud last December 15, 2021 lagi. After that lunch kay didto mn mis CDU, giclaim namo among bugas nga giveaway. Then lo and behold, supertyphoon Rai (Odette) happened the next day. And the rest is history. Since I'm not so familiar mn lagi with the US and its educational system, I didn't know that this Temple University is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA), USA. They have a campus in Japan and mao ni sya ang affiliate nilas YCAPS. Gimention ni ni Mr Nick Millward sa info session lagi last December 16th. Then timing ra pud kaju lagi that one of our interns (the only thorn among the roses) is somebody who was born in Philly itself. I told him that di ra pud siya ma-OP diay coz either si John Bradford, YCAPS executive director is from there and/or si Mike Okamoto, the program director of the Getting to Know Japan series. Basta kay 2 webinars n lagi ang nacomplete ni Kyle this week so excited n xa magpasign sa iyang hours. Sila Niña and Steffi kay I think one hour ra man (or basin si Niña ra gani cguro, I dunno where Steffi is). The one last night on CRIMARIO. Cge lang. First week p nila oi. I told them to give them time kay I think nakalineup n lagi ilang seminars for March. And if I recall correctly, si Mike said he's leaving in March so most likely he's turning over some files n to someone. So maghuwat ra jud mi kay lisud n kaju magdemand lagi. Today 2/18/22 puros meeting and webinars n lng lagi ang nahitabo. Reminded me of a time when ang Fridays are for seminars only. Or in Cambodian kindergarten school speak, Friday is PE day! At 830 am here in Philippines was the talk of Yoko Iwama about Japan's deterrence etc. Puros missiles n mn lagi tawn tong ilang gipangstoryahan oi. At 9am I left n lagi for our dept meeting coz I can't eat missiles for breakfast. Then in the afternoon, my students in Econ 112, Lily and Venice were watching the livestreaming of the G20 Indonesia side event called Building a Sustainable Finance. From the Jakarta Convention Center daw to oi. Last sem kay sa New Zealand mn lagi to ang ilang livestream for the APEC Youth Summit. 2 days gud to at 3 hours each. I like asking them to go to these online conferences para mafeel jud lagi nila ang ilang IS. Though virtual lang, makaingon ra mn jud japon sila nga they watched it or participated in it. SOCSCI STANDARD

Naa jud nis among lesson lagi with Dr Solomon Aplaon in Silliman University. He asked us to read the History of Social Science Teaching in the Philippines. It said that niubos lagi daw ang quality sa social science teaching kay anybody would teach it man. Even in our training of The Contemporary World (TCW) subject last October 2016 at USC-TC, diha jud lagi mga language teachers oi. Baw giunsa kaha tawn to nila lagi pagsabot tanan. Niña told me in our GC that YCAPS said they will mark down their attendance in the webinars against the 200 hours total daw that they would have to do for their internship. Wow, amazing! Last night, I met up with my old college friends, Alan and Candice. Morag college p daw sila wa magkita maong mahaba-haba pud ang usapan. I ate it when I woke up at 3am. Today 2/17/22 my plan is to send the big box of old clothes to my sister in Bohol so that iyang ihatag nila Anna Baguio sa Ubay Island. This afternoon at 2PM PST/3PM JST we met with Mr Michael Okamoto of YCAPS. He's the program director of the Getting to Know Japan series. Dali ra man ang conference call, one hour ra. Sila Sir Raymund and Alan pud were there to provide their support. Twas just basically to talk about where they could be posted. Since American man si Kyle, tua n dayon xay assignment lagi. Then eventually he said si Steffi can work in the Indo-Pacific Series kuno and si Niña on their social media pages or graphics b to. Basta lipay silas ilang new opp bujag. Si Kyle joined from school. At first hinay tawn iyang signal but eventually he was able to speak well ra mn. Dali2 pud ko balhin sa taas kay hinay signal sa silong. And I realized that I need a backup setup sa taas lagi. ALAN IN CDU

Since former colleagues mn lagi mis USC, Alan Tabanao asked to meet up with me last February 1 afternoon sa Bo's Coffee in J Center Mall. I showed him CELO then. Karon nga nagsugod n ang sem, virtual assistant n ko niya. Intawn. Most likely he will be teaching all STS courses daw this sem. For accreditation mn daw ang Nursing. Paita anang trabahua oi. Happy n ko diris akong coordination with YCAPS staff, Mr. Michael Okamoto for the virtual internship of our International Studies students with them this semester. VIRTUAL INTERNSHIP - I.S. STUDENTS

Ay I am excited for our IS students (Kyle Ko, Niña Condor and Steffi Bascar). Sila may due for internship (virtual mode) this semester. Due to the pandemic that the setup of our internship will now be virtual. YCAPS, www.ycaps.org, a nonprofit organization around the US Navy in Japan has already agreed to take them in and we are waiting for the information session schedule with them to officially introduce their organization to our student interns. They have to do 200 hours diay for this internship and they would need to submit a journal every week. Jia you to us all. Pwede mn daw by inheritance. So I told him about it and interesado lagi siya. We are now in the process of requesting for his late mom's birth certificate from PSA/NSO. He is my good friend from Tubigon, Bohol. He migrated to Canada when we were at university I think. He was pursuing Computer Science at USC then. Then lately lang he messaged that he went back to school kuno in order to fulfill a dream. Eskwela kuno sija ug software engineering oi. Sa Missisauga n kuno sija ron. Next city to Toronto ra diay n. AUNTY HELEN (+)

She is my dad's younger sister sa Hawaii. I was able to visit them last July 2019 during Mike's wedding. We learned that she passed on last 0235 on January 30th in Hawaii, 2035 of the same day here in Philippines. Her funeral will be on February 24 in the afternoon at Hawaii Memorial Cemetery daw after a mass at St Ann's Church in Kaneohe. Rest in peace Aunty and sorry for all the times we caused you heartaches. We love you always. Go now in peace. Say hi to everyone in heaven for us. Amen.
