I revived my application as Consul/Ambassador for Cebu City and was on the interview with Sheena Mulani from Inter Nations Regional Office Singapore y'day over MS Teams. She said naay laing aplikante and last night she emailed her suggestions. Either we work together daw for one official event per month or individually one event every other month mi, starting this March. She suggested a Social Group which can easily be turned into an Outdoor Group pohon if daku n ang community lagi. Or Arts and Culture Group daw for books, cooking etc. I love it. I msgd the other girl already, her name is Ludy Demecillo, taga Mactan and I gave her my suggestions. Sheena wants us to meet again on Thursday at 9am daw pohon. Yes, it occurred to me today. That pwede jud ko mangita lagi ug work online, work as a freelancer so that pwede ko makalakaw lagi wherever I want to. As long as naay internet lagi and I have my computer, the world will be my office. Amen! I signed up to home-based jobs bitaw that I saw on Facebook today (writer, social media manager) and I will wait for the outcomes of those applications. This was in connection to the imminent ending of the drama series Maria Clara at Ibarra. Ayy, I will miss the drama series jud. Time to move on.

In the webinar yesterday on Communicating Your Science Effectively, the speaker, Sam Illingworth of the UK, www.samillingworth.com, said that he uses poetry daw in conveying his work to his audience. He even gave us an example on migratory birds. Actually, I have an interest in poetry too. I remember during our culminating activity sa SRHR refresher course in UP Diliman last October 2011. Teresa Jopson and I presented a haiku for the 7 billionth citizen of the world. Pwede ra jud to naho kaju irevive lagi. Aloha Doki! :)

Y'day afternoon, 2/15/23 at 3pm from Bangkok ang session 2 sa above program lagi. Nimsg p jud si Jiah Sayson nako today kay ganahan siya mocatch up daw sa session 2. Maapas pb daw niya nga wala mn xas session 1. I said sure kaju kay introduction ra mn to lagi ang last February 1 nga session. Pwede ra gud kaju k motan-aw sa Youtube sa Thai model on BCG kay mao may gipresent lagi last Feb. 1. So jia you to us all, go go go! Sus, 500+ ang participants sa session y'day oi. Today 2/12/23 wala p may email lagi from Appen for the Pic-A-Boo task. I applied n lng to other jobs like in Accenture and also teacher jobs here in Cebu. I got thru the first step sa Accenture. They asked me to fill up a questionnaire online. I'll wait n lng pud kung moproceed b ko atos next step o dili. Basta, Ikaw nay bahala sa tanan Lord. Amen. I went to CTU Main Campus today. Si Mam Raquel Obiso helped me out man in my application and showed me around. Salamat kaju Mam. I just pray for the best. I applied for an English teacher job as well as research fellow post pud sa IDS this morning. Tan-awn n lng. Btw showing n today ang Without You nga movie ni David Licauco and Shaira Diaz. Lingaw ilang Q & A kay ang shower scene jud lagi kuno maoy pinakachallenging for both of them. Nihirit p jud si David that he doesn't do it in real life kuno. Shaira said the same. Stars of the program Maria Clara at Ibarra were on All Out Sundays at this time. Mga 130pm n to sila nigawas lagi. Nikanta si Julie Anne San Jose ug Barbie Forteza. Nagrampa2 ras Ginoong Fidel. Then in the evening, si David Licauco was in #KMJS (Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho) coz he had a date with a fan from Cagayan de Oro (CDO) nga wala jud makakita niya lagis iyang restos. Ay I'm happy I'm still here in Cebu so that makakita ko lagi. Heheh. To be honest, nainspire ko aning MCAI and David Licauco to be good in my field too. Coz he is a successful businessman yet he's into showbiz p. So go go go jud ta ani lagi! ;)

INFRASTRUCTURE OR TRANSPORT

I'm very happy I got a response from Dr Matthew Hoye for a possible panel in the LDE Centre GMD Annual Conference this April 5th pohon. I pitched to him the 2 above topics, particularly improvement in infrastructure during the Duterte administration and the adoption of eco-friendly transport here in Cebu as a result of the pandemic. I will wait for his reply. But so far I like the 1st one; I found few articles related to it already. I'm also excited to attend the conference in person pohon coz I want to see tulips in the flower fields again. But all depends if I can find a sponsor for my ticket. Last night 2/8/23 I received email from our secretariat Vanessa Ntinu that LDE Centre GMD will have its annual conference on April 5th from 13:00 to 17:00 in Rotterdam. They are looking for panels daw. I emailed the ones I met sa Migration and Housing Inequalities Research last August. I'll wait for their responses. BUCKET LIST

These are the places I want to visit in future pohon: 1. Czech Republic - Prague, Brno (due to the travel show The Flip Trip before with Pepe Diokno and Jessica Zafra on CNN Philippines). I have former students pud who are now in Poland and Budapest, si Natalie Roa and Niño Mark Melgo respectively. 2. Croatia - Split and Dubrovnik - these places just look so beautiful. Dr Jun Lasco was there before. Didto pud nagshooting sila LizQuen for their drama series Dolce Amore b to. Sila Gail Alfeche were there too but she got sent man daw due to medical reasons. Sad. 3. Ha Long Bay, Vietnam - I've always wanted to go 4. Laos coz Tita Sonia Geroche and her family are there now, and Myanmar n rin 5. Okavango River Delta in Botswana - this Chinese man, Frank Wang or Zhang b to who's living in Zambia said he came face to face with a lion there and it changed his life kuno 6. Carribean cguro and another beautiful country in Latin America

Today 2/7/23, I officially applied n jud for the Associate Professor 1 job sa VSU (Visayas State University). Department of Liberal Arts and Behavioral Sciences (DLABS) ni. 2 daw ming applicants oi so I pray for the best. I will do my best lng pud pohon sa interview and teaching demo. Go go go Doki, aloha! I learned something new diay today. I learned that Word documents can now be saved as PDF. Since 2010 b daw to, all Word documents can be converted n to many formats. TECH TALENTS UK

I saw their vacancy for a visiting professor - remote on LinkedIn and I applied to it. Today, after a few hours, at past 12 noon, I got a response that I passed the initial screening daw. So I proceeded to the next step, submitted to them my pertinent documents like a copy of my passport etc. They've received it daw and will review them. They'll just get back to me ra daw. I read that every year daw sila magpili lagi. I just hope for the best. Amen. Grabeha no. Morag online job ra man tong akong gipangita, bisan unsa n man ning nitunga lagi. Last night, around 12 midnight I woke up lagi just to check my messages and my Youtube also. He said what I am doing kuno, why I was up so late. I said I've been sleeping since 7 or 8pm actually and nimata ra lagi ko kadyot. He said he supports me kuno in what I do. Wow, salamat kaayo. A few days ago, I signed up for home-based jobs kay taghuwat lagi while wala p nagsugod akong classes. Today, I received a job posting to take videos in Appen kuno of rainy days. I just got declined coz I have no holder man lagi in my camera para mastable kuno siya. Heheh. A few minutes later, I received email from them telling me that I've been approved for their Pic-A-Boo project. Wait lng ko for their cue on when to start. Go go go lang Doki, darating k rin dun. My MBA class in Foundation University (FU) Dumaguete will start n man ig Wednesday, February 15 in the evening lagi pohon. I want to meet them coz medyo taas raba ang requirement ani nga klas lagi - publishhable papers daw. I told them that I will not join the orientation this Saturday, 2/11/23 afternoon coz wala koy budget p. Mosabot ra cguro pud si Mam Charlotte. But if makakita n lagi ko ug full time work by that time, I will go. Just like to the bunyag of her apo invite ni Ate Tonet. Congratulations diay ninjo Ate. Aloha! ;)

Nakatawa ko coz I got email that si Dr. Arsenio Balisacan, a renowned Philippine economist from UPSE and currently NEDA secretary-general, read my paper daw on rice trade liberalization in the country. Kadugay n ato coz September 2003 p to lagi, my lone article lagi to nga napublish so far at PQCS. It's an offshoot of my MA thesis at ISS. Somebody from Economics Department, Fordham University in New York lagi kuno pud oi read that same article back in April or July last year. Lingawa kaju. Then this guy named T'roy Bumagat of CIMMYT (Maize and Wheat Improvement Center) is following me daw on www.academia.edu. Heheh, lingawa kaju. Wala lang, padayon lng ta ani lagi. GLOBAL ASIA: ISSUES, CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES

From February 4 to February 5, 2023, UP Asian Center has a global conference on the above topic. Morag 8 am to 10am on both days. This is in cooperation with the University of Pittsburgh diay Center for unsa n to. Day 1 was all about China and Japan. Si Dr Kay Shimizu talked about Japanese agricultural cooperatives. I like it. Then didto n pud si Ms Antoniette Raquiza. Igsoon jud ni siya ni Marivic Raquiza for sure. We finished at about 1030am. Onward to the next day n pud pohon. Jia you Doki, go go go! Next Saturday n ang orientation lagis Foundation University MBA program. I plan to attend so that I can also meet my colleagues there, even though I am only a guest lecturer lagi daw this semester. LORNA, MADON

Mula noon, hanggang ngayon bujag. Great friends jud n nahos Lorna and Madon. When I applied for PhD Econ gud sa Hawaii for Sept 2016 unta, Lorna was willing to lend me then the amount needed to pay for my GRE. Nahadlok lng lagi ko ato maong wa jud ko nadayon. This time, morag iya ko pabayloon n pud ug small amount aron lng jud na'koy magasto2 while waiting kung madawat b kos VSU or not. Madon on the other hand had been like a surrogate mother to me. Sa Netherlands p jud mi, she treated me like a daughter n. She would always call me to eat her paksiw n mackerel with matching oranges if mag-oopen market siya. Gitawag man ko niya'g tanga kaisa coz maldita siya buyag. But she's always been there for me. The last time she was here in Cebu was April 2019 man cguro. This morning 2/3/23 I viewed the VSU Jobs Portal just to check if there really is a vacancy for the post that Sir Guiraldo said I could apply to at VSU. Assistant Professor 1 diay oi at their DLABS (Department of Liberal Arts and Behavioral sciences) ang opening and the closing date is on February 9th pohon. Sir Guiraldo said he will just get back to me daw coz he was in a conference earlier. I pray for the best. Amen. I signed up for possible online work n lng with Appen and they said after 2 weeks p daw ko kontakon. Wala p man pud reply si Mam Charlotte but more or less agreed n to nga tagaan ko niya ug subjects and if I teach with them this semester, tiwason jud nako ang sem. Hahay, jia you Doki!
