There's a series of program about Hawaii's special places that I discovered on Youtube. I watched them in July 2021 man cguro to. I watched them again this time. My notes: 1) Waimea in the Big Island - Parker Ranch and life in the old plantations man cguro to 2) Kau - sugar cane plantation. Because Kau's was the last sugar plantation to operate 3) Hilo - of course the very beautiful town of Hilo on the Big island of Hawaii 4) North Kohala - sweet breath of the sun, where Kamehameha was born ata 5) Hanapepe in Kauai - for the old ways including making pa'akai or salt from the sea 6) Papakolea in Oahu - I forgot n what this documentary was about 7) Anahola or Anehola -about healing daw 8) Waimanalo - the old fishing ways ilang gifeature diri. Waimanalo is hidden water kuno 9) Waihe'e - I dunno. I think I still have to watch it. I also watched documentaries from PBS of the old Hawaii. One documentary said Nanakuli means you look at your knees daw because people are not proud daw to live in Nanakuli because it is a very dry place. Go go go Doki!

Last night 4/26/23 I met with my 2nd cousin Gigi who is on vacation from Saskatchewan, Canada. We met at Starbucks in Ayala Center Cebu. I gave her some pasalubong; she gave me pasalubong too: Tim Horton's Coffee, Victoria's Secret lotion, chocolates and hand sanitizer man to. I gave her otap and mango tamarind candies. Nagchika ra gud mi oi kay morag hiskul p lagi mi last nagkita. She went to Saudi Arabia man gud after graduating from SWU. Aloha Gi, safe travels and keep in touch lang jud! I shared the Tim Horton coffee to my siblings in Bohol. Lipay pud sila ;)

Anyway, all's well that ends well. In the morning I had my interview and teaching demo via MS Teams sa NU Baliwag, Bulacan campus lagi. Si Dr Calma kuno to ug a very kind lady ang baje. Then in the afternoon was the Climate Cafe at USC-TC. Niapas n lng ko lagi. There were 20 Dutch students brought by their professors from RUAS and Hanze Hogeschol. Wa n ko moduol ni Engr. Fornis ug Dutch Consul Dondi Joseph. Sa sunod n lng mi magchika. Nidrama man gud kos intermission number nila lagi nga Ako't Ikaw. Nice kaju nga song jud, sentimental kaju. Wala si Kresna Navarro kay they had an emergency meeting daw. Cge po. Anyway I told her as well as Joanalyn Gabales that kitaon nako sila pohon if ever madayon kos NU Baliwag Bulacan lagi. I met up with this good friend from my Cambodia days on Monday, 4/24/23 at Radisson in SM. He treated me to breakfast there. Wow. He has been working man gud in San Jose, California for more than 10 years now kuno. The last time I saw him was in Phnom Penh, Cambodia p jud. Barkada man sila ni Bong Gonzaga. Mga bakulaw sila heheh. We've basically just kept in touch lang jud thru FB Messenger. He told me to keep an open perspective. Di daw pwede nakakahon lagi but open. You have to get out of the mountain lagi kuno in order to see the mountain. He said unless magtiniguwang n lng jud lagi kuno ko nga di n ganahan mosuroy. Patilan nimo Dr. Don. Tinuod. I checked with Google Maps today. Ang Baliwag, Bulacan diay kay medyo duol ras Clark. So if madayon ko didto pohon lagi, pwede ra'g Cebu to Clark n lng ahong ticket. Then from there, bus daw ang pinakabarato to Bulacan, Bulacan cguro ni. Travel n lng pud to Baliwag from there. Aho sang balikon ug tan-aw kung asa jud ko agi pohon. Go go go Doki, aloha! Nindut unta ug sweldo didto Lord aron worth the move lagi. Wait lng ko po :)

2 GREAT NEWS FOR TODAY

Wow! Today is our cousin Mike Jocson's bday in Hawaii. He said on our GC that moari daw sila ni Paul in July pohon. Morag sila ra and from July 7 to 13 daw pohon. Cebu daw sila magstay then magbarko lng sila to Tubigon. Minteryo/mass ug lunch get together ra man toy ijang ingon oi. After Cebu/Bohol they plan to proceed to Luzon daw pud pohon. Wow, this is truly exciting indeed! 1990 p lagi tawn n namo sila nakit-an diris Pinas oi. So all the best sa mga plano, cousins. The other news is that I'm up for interview and teaching demo daw sa National University Baliwag, Bulacan campus. I applied as program chair in Economics man lagi. Under sa CBA diay kuno. This coming April 27th daw at 9am. I asked if pwede b nga sa Zoom n lng and ayha ra ko mobyahe lagi didto if nadawat n ko. Wow, I'm excited with this too. Coz I know that in future they will have a campus in Cebu too, on top of SM in Mabolo. Same man pud ang ilang campus sa Baliwag, Bulacan. Sa taas ras SM City Baliwag lagi kuno. She's my former officemate in Legaspi City back in 2009. She was supposed to visit me last March 2020 but the pandemic happened man. Today 4/26/23 she msgd me that she's on her way to Cebu kuno lagi with her siblings. Wow, welcome po! Morag 2nd time n ni niya since the pandemic lagi. Mao man ni ang istorya sa 2 men who were walking to Emmaus and they talked about the events that happened in Jerusalem lagi. Jesus walked with them but they didn't recognize him till nawala siya. And they said, weren't our hearts burning when he was talking to us? Mao n, how do we recognize God lagi in our midst? Need to reflect and be humble always. Last night, we had a Zoom meeting with PDFNI Manila to talk about how to form lagi a Cebu Chapter. But actually, pwede ra daw later n ang formal consolidation of our chapter. Gusto ra daw nila lagi nga mag-organize mis General Assembly which will happen in September pohon. Okay po. Present in the meeting last night were the Manila people: si Mam Mary Ann Sayoc who is the PDFNI president, then si Mam Elizabeth Raymundo who is Vice President b to, then si AJ Flores, Jamela Hanley, Isidora Camaya ug Mona Lisa Delos Reyes. Si Mam Chloe kay member man diay pud sa Board of Trustees kay lifetime member man xas PDFNI. For the Cebu group, ang nitunga kay ako, si Luchie Almagro-Blanco, si Jiah Sayson, si Mam Jessica Adlawan Uy who is incidentally celebrating her birthday today, si May Tampus, Mam Leonila Adarna, Mam Leonisita Semblante, si Reyne Ugay ug si Mam Nitz Jumao-as. Overall, excited ang taga Manila oi kay makaari n lagi daw sila'g Cebu for GA pohon. And I think that once maform n ang Cebu, of course Mindanao can surely follow. Sayon ra man n. I finished my interview with Singapore School Cebu (SSC) this afternoon via Zoom. Just like what CTU did, gidungan ra pud mi nila ug interview. 3 mi tanan aplikante but sa lain-laing subjects. She's my former colleague in CDU. She's married to her neighbor actually and childhood sweetheart. From CDU she moved to Mindanao; at the Mindanao campus of Malayan College something and now she's in Panabo State College n daw pud. I emailed them last week for a possible teaching job in the USA. Si Mr. Newton Lee ang tag-iya ani nga organization; they are based in Los Angeles, California. He msgd me back right away. HULA KAHIKO and HULA AUANA

Today I learned that there are 2 kinds of hula diay: the modern and the old one. Modern hula is hula auana while old hula is hula kahiko. It is the latter that is having a competition today at the 60th Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo, Hawaii, USA. Ugma pohon n pud ang hula auana lagi. Last end November 2021, I tried to organize the Visayas group of Dutch scholars. Wala man to nadayon lagi coz supertyphoon Odette happened man. And diha pud lagi resistance sa provision nga the mother chapter in Metro Manila, PDFNI will get 20% b tos among revenues diris Cebu chapter pohon. I remember that only 6 jud joined the meeting last time on Google Meet. And this time, they want us to formally organize lagi daw so that diri n daw ihold ang next General Assembly pohon. I told Mam Chloe man nga siya n lay molead kay siya may active jud sa PDFNI lagi. I just made the first step in creating the GC. We have a Zoom meeting with them tonight, 4/19/23 at 6pm. MERRIE MONARCH 2023

From April 9 to 15th this year, they have the Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo, Hawaii. It is the 60th installation daw this year so it's pretty special. Right now they have the Miss Aloha Hula Competition and I'm very happy that I am able to watch the livestream from Hawaii itself. Go go go!

CLASSIN ENGLISH DEMO

Yesterday afternoon we had the chance to meet up with the Dutch Ambassador Marielle Geraedts at the Casino Español in Ranudo Street, Cebu City. There were only 6 of us who were there. In the end, they gave us a simple orange notebook as token. Heel bedankt and hup Holland hup!

SAINT EZEKIEL MORENO

Fr. Jerry Orbos was at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Labangon, Cebu City today celebating a healing mass. He brought the bone relic of St. Ezekiel Moreno who is the patron kuno of cancer patients. Mao daw nakaayo niya when he had lung cancer in the past. He said in one month's time he will be in Lourdes, France daw for a pilgrimage. Mohapit daw pud siyas Navarra, Spain nga hometown ni St. Ezekiel Moreno. I emailed him already and told him to remember all of us when he's at the Lourdes grotto. I will make a little donation pud to his causes this afternoon. God bless us all, aloha! ;)

It will be on Thursday, April 13th daw pohon at 16:00 via Classin. Thank you. I remember that we had a seminar for this LMS back in 2021 I think by C&E. Wala jud nako nagamit lagi ang akong nadownload nga app nila till this time. I am being considered man as an English teacher for this school in China. Gabii jud lagi daw ang ilang preferred nga teaching time. Kids to adults daw ang students oi. 1:1 jud lagi daw ang teaching, 25 minutes each session. Via Gcash daw ang payment. Learning materials will be provided daw by the student union and the rate that I will be given will depend daw on the demo class. After the demo class, I will be told daw what my rate will be. On Friday night, somebody from China msgd me on Messenger coz they were looking for an online English teacher daw. I thought I had to think about it kay dugay n ko lagi wa magtudlo ug English and kids too. I got accepted also to that online reviewer job kunos TikTok. Ahh, akong giundangan oi kay wa ko kasabot. Mora ra mn mi ato ug giduwa2an. So I pursued the ESL thing with them. I just sent them my self-introduction video and CV. Nireply baya pud sila. Ila kunong ireview akong application. Gabii man lagi ilang prefer jud. Kids and adults kuno ang students; 1:1 jud kuno ang teaching at 25 minutes per session. The student union provides the teaching materials kuno. They said they were victims of Acadsoc. Pait; unsa kahay gibuhat nila bah. Anyway, balibaran n lng pud nako ni sila Lord if padutyhon n kos Rizwoods lagi. I'm expecting nga Tuesday 4/11/23 p to sila pohon mopatawag naho kay offeran kuno ko lagi nila ug contract. Well, I would have to be honest of course. I received a message from my classmate Any from Indonesia on WhatsApp. She asked me if I am familiar with Cubao, QC daw. I think this has something to do with her urban gardening project. I told my MBA klas in Dumaguete that kadtong article about sustainable businesses in ASEAN plus astrotourism ang akong iapil lagis midterm test namo pohon. Plus kadtong payments reading pud. Since di n man lagi ko pwedes phase 2 sa ASEAN BCG kay 45 yrs old man daw ilang age limit, ngita n lng ko ug laing opportunity lagi. I enrolled in the Master in Central Banking (MCB) program sa Asia School of Business (ASB) in Kuala Lumpur. Ngita gud ko ug scholarship for it pohon. Sa September daw magstart ang program so by June 15, 2023 pohon ang deadline sa recommendation letters. I asked Mam Charlotte and Mam Jhe to write me the recommendation. One has to be immediate supervisor man daw and the other one must be someone daw that the applicant has worked with. Nagstorya n mi ni Mam Jhe sa chat. CC MAYOR'S OFFICE

Today I emailed the above office coz supportive ra man si Purple Cow CEO lagi of my idea to build a startup hub here in Cebu. I will wait for the good mayor's response. It won't be till Tuesday April 11 lagi siguro pohon kay holiday man from today April 6 Maundy Thursday to Monday April 10 for Bataan Day pohon. I am quite positive nga mosupport siya coz like Singapore gud kuno lagi iyang vision for Cebu. Anyway, other than the government, we'd need the universities as well as venture capitalists in it too. Mabuhat ra lagi n tanan as long as their determination and perseverance. Jia you Doki, go go go! ;)

I would do it this way, Lord. If bati gani ang offer sa Rizwoods, I might just ask Mam Amina to reconsider me for the private tutor post in Al Khobar, KSA. Pero mahadlok man jud lagi ko moadto Lord oi. I believe di ko Nimo pasagdan Lord. BTS gud, believe, trust, surrender. Amen!

DAVAO

Ahh, so if I'm guessing it right, si Aloha actually went to Davao lately. Ses! I told him that kami ni Ate Ica were not in Davao City but actually in Tagum City and I also went to Banaybanay, Davao Oriental for the first time. Then of course we met our cousins in Carmen and Panabo very quickly before heading back to Davao City in order to catch our flight back to Cebu. Nganong wa man jud siya mosulti di b nga didto diay siya? Well, it only means need n jud siya kalimtan. I will work on my new project which is to create like a startup hub here in Cebu. I will start with Cebu first then expand to Visayas and Mindanao. Anyway I have the contacts ra man from my academic friends. Hopefully tabangan ko ni John Smulo. I asked him for a contact man sa Silicon Valley. I'm sure mosupport ra pud si Mayor Mike Rama ani kay ang iyang vision for Cebu is like Singapore gud kuno. I'm sure USC and CDU would support it. I can contact USJR and the other schools here in Cebu pud. We just need the venture capitalist from the US. Good luck in your new project Doki. Aloha! :)

STARTUP

I was watching one of John Smulo's videos today on Youtube. In that video, among other things, he said he missed the startup culture in Silicon Valley. I messaged him that I want to create that culture here too. I'm sure the big universities here would be interested in that. USC and CDU lang daan, I'm sure mokagat jud sila lagi. And I am teaching at the MBA program lagi in Dumaguete so I'm sure they want to be included in it too. The rest of Visayas and Mindanao pud. And pwede pud eventually, to include Luzon so the entire Philippines n ang covered. Btw he has 4 sons daw kuno oi nga in their 20s in the US. Huh, so pila diay iyang edad n? He looks young man. And I think he has a daughter pud with his wife Grace here in Cebu. Oh well, personal life n n niya. God bless us all always, go go go! :)

GIVE UP

This morning, 4/3/23, per the direction of the Chair of the CTU Dept of Psychology and Social Sciences, I msgd her to say that I gave up my teaching load for this semester entirely. 33 units to tanan oi, at P175 per hour. But the catch is tuay klases lagi from last semester nga ipatiwas nija this sem. Nya mangayo siya ug panso. Sus ang iyang panso kay MW 730 to 9pm, Saturday 4 to 7 pm ug tua p jud Sunday nga 1 to 4 pm. Nya na'pay mosukol ana lagi? Then nanghire sila midterms na. Dakung binuang ilang style jud. Mao diay ng nipersist n nga system kay na'may modawat pud lagi. Kay naghuwat lagi kuno silas item sa government budget. Well, kamo n lng lagi ana mga mam ug sir. I think tua p koy laing options. Di ra ko pasagdan ni Lord jud. Amen. Ako n pud gimessage ang mga GCs nga lahi n ilang teacher. Tua n raba ta silay submissions lagi sa 1st homework coz gimeet n gud nako sila lagi last week. Gahimo p ko ug Google Classroom kada klase n lagi. Gamay man gud kaju to ug sweldo oi; pwede ra jud tong ilang setup lagi duwa2an or bagdoy2an. Kay daghan man diay nga affiliated with other government offices nga mopart-time p jud nila lagi. Ako kay wa koy plano man uroy mopart-time sa laing org maong di jud to para naho lagi. Para tos uban. Huwaton naho ang Rizwoods College coz they said they'd contact me after Holy Week in order to offer me a contract. If gamay japon ilang sweldo or bati ang working hours then balibaron pud naho lagi. I will pay back Madon diay this afternoon ig landong n kay moclear n siguro tong akong cheke today. I will also give money to Ate Ica. Wala man si Lorna mobasa pas ahong message so let's see n lng. I got to know this organization last year during the virtual internship of our CDU AB International Studies (IS) students. Partner organization man ni silas YCAPS, www.ycaps.org, the organization where they did their virtual internship. 3 ra man pud to sila lagi, sila Kyle Ko, Niña Condor ug Steffi Blanche Bascar. Sige ko'g apil sa ilang webinars kay part n man kos ilang mailing list. Japan Campus man ni silas Temple University of Philadelphia lagi, the most ethnically diverse university daw sa USA. They are looking for an administrative coordinator daw. Morag full time ang position for 18 months but with possibility of renewal. Nag-apply ko dayon oi. Anyway, ako jud lagi gisamok si Mam Mizzy ganihang kadlawon. Dah, nasuko siya oi. I'm disturbing her Sunday kuno. Well, she disturbed my schedule for this semester. Diha n gud koy sked lagi when she offered me those teaching loads. She told me to accept the entire teaching load or let them go entirely. So I will use today lagi to think about it. Nameet n gud nako lagi tanang klases last week buyag. Tua n pud mi plan to meet tomorrow via Google Meet sa mga klases nga backlog from last sem lagi. BSTM 2nd year, 6 sections oi: from Sections A to C then 2-1 to 2-3. Pangayuan man ko niya'g panso lagi for those klases so tua koy Sunday nga 1 to 4 pm lagi tawn oi.
