KINDNESS

I attended a webinar given by the eminent historian Prof Xiao Chua today about pre-colonial Filipino society. My takeaway from that seminar was when he pointed out the kindness, the pakikipagkapwatao of precolonial Filipinos. He said gud that Magellan and his men did not come to us strong daw. Rather, they came here destitute daw as they had been travelling at sea for 90 days without food and with some men sick or something. He said were it not for the kindness of Filipinos, the first cicumnavigation wouldn't have happened daw. That is a really nice take on our history. And I remember how someone said that he admires Filipinos coz we are kind. Hahah. Of course, I remember the talk of Pope Francis also about how Filipinos are so easily forgiving of people's mistakes. We have people in our government gud who are associated with past dictatorships etc. Good luck n lng to us always!
