PIQC WEBINAR 11/4/21

Today at 9am there was a webinar about the Visayan society during the Spanish times. Still part of the Philippine International Quincentennial Conference (PIQC) celebrations. Dr Bernardita Reyes Churchill joined it from Washington, DC. Tomorrow there will be another webinar at 9am. I will join till my class at 1030am. Jia you to us all! I connected to Ms Elaine Justine Aldaya with the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu and Dr Jose Buenconsejo who studied at UH at one point. Si Miss Kinna Mae Kwan also had a very interesting presentation about the ancient Visayan art of tattoing (pintados or patik or batik as they say in Indonesia). She is known for her work diay with the White Russians who were anti-communists and came to Guiuan, Eastern Samar in the past. Anyway, looking forward to the session tomorrow. God bless the Philippines! :)
